agreed on that, thats the only time we would ever tell people to go to them, was because they had to. we fixed soo many crappy tire specials it wasn't even funny.
and yes its not an easy thing to obtain, out of province certificates are taken per technician and are held with the tech rather then the shop as well.

so did my first caliper replacement, and did my rear pads as the inside ones were cracked so did those, replaced the broken stud and readjusted my ebrake all in about an hour and a half. needless to say i'm in a bit of a happier mood now.
haha go change a thermostat then you wont be in a happy mood, all in know is i need smaller hands to work on this car. Im doing my brakes tomorrow. I wish it would get nicer out so i can actually start to drive the car
I just did my brakes about a month ago but now it looks like at least one caliper in the back is messed. Another trip to the dealership for me. I cant imagine ever having more problems with a new cars brakes as I have with this car.
I've had squealing breaks from the day I drove the car off the lot. Brought her in about 5 or 6 times and the squealing keeps coming back. Must be a cobalt thing. And Diabetickripple, I have the same monster lip forming on my rotors too, also seems to be be a common cobalt breaks problem.

ya its pretty bad, and since i got back from hawaii and there was rust all over my brakes, one of my rotors warped and when i brake i can feel a slight vibration and it stops a lil harder every time the wheel turns. ill probably get new brakes in the summer. not a priority right now.

Ya thermostats aren't fun. And I should clarify, my caliper didn't actually seize it was the brake mechanism that was seizing leaving the brake half engaged.

regaurding the rear brakes o nus LNF-Cobalts, you guys do know that the (caliper)slider was not lubed from the factory right?
I lubed mine roughly a month after buying the car...
Am probably going to do it again when I give the mechanicals a good once over...
I'll be out of town next week.

It's still slow though. But that's next on the list to fix. I'm set on supercharging it now, so as funds and time permit that will get done.

i do most things myself, the actuator was covered under my powertrain so that was done at the dealer. basically any modifications i do myself, if the part will be covered under warranty then i get it done at the dealer, but at the same time i know what will be covered and what won't be before hand and i don't try and get things covered under warranty when they shouldn't be, like i wouldn't go in for warranty on my struts because i'm lowered.
and ya for it does save alot of money doing it yourself and having some hookups. to do my caliper, pads and a wheel stud it cost me $90

thats pretty good. i dont know how much my brakes would be but my brother is doing everything, all i have to do is give him my keys.
i think it would be;
~$20 per rotor 4x = ~$80
~$60 per caliper 4x = ~$240
for pads ~$100?
so like $400-500 for all 4 brakes brand new, installed
