Calgary - random talk thread
I work on your car all the time, but I'm trying to remember exactly what the factory airbox looks like... I could probably make you one. It wouldn't say K&N, lol... but it would work.

mine acted up a lil bit with just the intake, tightened up the gap of my plugs and it ran great. but i've changed too much now that i could play with the gap a lil bit more and see if i can get it perfect but with how often i'm throwing a run lean code i got a leak somewhere and i'm pretty sure its the couplers on my intake.

no they are too cracked and worn to be able to silicone them. i'll be replacing them with blue ones when i get a chance to go to mopac and get them.

the torque dampner is really negligable. all you really need is a solid front mount and it will do the same thing. think of a teeter totter. same thing, you have a single pivot point. put more weight (or in our case, stiffen up one side) and you prevent movement on the pivot point.

I mean, I've posted a couple times where I live...
- K&N drop in (IMHO the factory airboxes in these cars are not that bad; I'd suggest you just fix your original airbox - I can help you out if you want)
- Shorty header (like what Kris had - that was a nice piece)
- Tune (nuff said? ~ my Trifecta dealer kit is on route if you're interested)
I believe that exhaust & tune would both yield the best bang for the buck.
IMHO, I'd encourage you to stay away from tint;
Tint is the biggest single cop-magnet, then with you being young, you'ld just be asking fro trouble - save your money, and avoid tickets;
I'm sure a couple here would be able to confirm this.
I understand some people get better traction with one - but with your car's power levels, this would be more "bling" than anything else.

they see the tint...
SuperSlow was telling me, that he believes he has avoided trouble by rolling down both front windows immediately after seeing the cherries light up;
I think everyone here with tint has been ticketed for tinted windows.

soundjunky, the torque dampner is more for preventing wheel hop then anything, and 2.4's hop just as bad as the LSJ's. but there are cheaper more effective options then installing a torque dampner

I would get lighter tint on the front windows. Like 35% or 40%. Also many of my friends have had no problem with tint for years. And apparently the CPS don't really care, unless your driving like an *******
