slider pins seize due to lack of lubrication causing inner pad to rub on the rotor causing premature wear of the rotor and pad.
most cases lubricating the slider pins as part of the regular maintenance will help with this situation but is not always a garaunteed fix. Many dealers replace the rear calipers

you'ld be best off arranging to talk with the service manager/assistant service manager to field if they're going to black ball you...
there is a thing on the GM-tech talk (or maybe it was tech-line??) that has a suggested fix, and I am not the only person to have had this work done under the blanket of warranty/dealer-discretionary free service...
when mine was done, they opted against turning the rotors, because there was minimal scarring - I was told the method in similar situation in which they make or break if the rotor gets turned - and the logic given to me seemed sound enough...

ya ceramic pads are great but require alot of heat and aggressive driving to operate correctly. if you don't they will not work correctly and cause problems as well
