ok, I'm goign to nerd it up for a moment;

I just spent all lunch researching lego

besides the fact that my mom gave away our lego stash ages ago, I just inherited on sunday my great aunt's lego stash...
it included:
  • two of the 1st design lego mini figures (read: long discontinued)
  • three different style early lego wheels (read: long discontinued)
  • some older different style lego figures (read: long discontinued)
  • some other old specific printed parts (read: long discontinued)
  • and (this is the best part) a couple pieces that I'd be willing to bet money, are from my first lego space set (including one man minus his helmet & air tank)... we lived with my great aunt & uncle on at least one occasion between moves... and it's very conceivable that I brought/left some of my personal lego there.

in all I had fun rummaging through the bricks... and remembering some of my youth...

I even bought a large set just the other week to try to stock up for when my nephews & nieces are old enough to play with it...
it was a special deal that fall*apart had ~ something like 2,000 pieces for $20... I'd probably have to confirm this...
but that set had no base pieces, no wheels, no men, and none of the other cool pieces...
but I had a couple small chinese knock off sets I bought YEARS ago... which had men, and many of the cool parts...
so between all that, and what I just got... I'm stocked...

just going to pick out and throw/give away the knock off lame stuff...

I think I even found the set I had;



I would just need to confirm with the bricks that I have put aside back at home...

My buddy had the best Lego collection. It was 2 giant tubs. We couldn't even budge them when we were kids. Good times

I'm really itching to buy some vintage lego sets (well one in specific) off of ebay...

but I've been pretty good sticking to my budget for a while now...

yeah, that's just what I need, ANOTHER thing to collect

My kids have an entire toy box of mega blocks. Literally they have there own try box. They also have those super old table that's for building lego ontop of. It's like holy heavy too. I'll try find a picture.

Those look like pieces from the Bionicle collection.

Purists may not recognize it as "real" lego, but it still classifies under the lego product line. The site just showcases original creations using any lego parts to create a unique design.

Those interested in designing something to be built with lego might want to check out the digital designer.

You can build just about anything and then figure out what parts you need (or even have to buy) to make it real.

I have some mega blocks (older, larger style) that you can have if you want... I also have these other building toys... can't recall their name...
both have been sitting boxed in my front entrance closet for some time...(I got a box of toys, and sorted through them late spring I think)
