i almost like died going to reffing tonight.

i was going 80 in the left lane on anderson and the lane to my right (middle lane) was doing 60. so im passing a bunch of cars when a base model sedan pulls out right infront of me, so i slammed on my brakes and swerved to the shoulder and passed him on the shoulder.

i know i scared the **** out of the driver because he left his signal light on and drove like 40 for a while haha.

my abs went off and my car got squirrely. i definitely clenched

I used to live in southwood right behind anderson train station;
I drove on anderson twice a day for several years (through three different jobs);
there's a stretch of anderson that becomes down right dangerous...
as in black ice dangerous...
When heading east towards deerfoot, for at least half of that stretch before the last set of lights I intentionally slow down...
I can't count how many nasty accidents I saw in that stretch of anderson...

(both sides are bad, and all four lanes have a bad stretch ~ but the eastbound, right lane seems to be the worst)

from my experience, passing stopped traffic @ 80km would put you 100% in the wrong if anything was to go awry...

I'm glad you're ok ~ but would encourage you to be one of the slower people on that stretch of road.

people can't drive in this city and they never look in thier mirrors. They also assume that people in the "Fast" lane are doing the speed limit so they have time. I had a guy on deerfoot give me the slow down sign with his arm when he tried to cut me off in the fast lane as I was doing 120.

People are idiots in this weather!
