I'd imagine it's probably a leaky gasket from when they were tinkering with your motor.

Brace yourself lol, it's a Hyundai Elantra and it's only a ****-hair slower than a local 2.2L cobalt with CF hood, SRI, and 2.5exhaust, but mine sticks in the corners better than stock ss/sc even with swaybar/strutbar upgrades, i will soon find out if it sticks better than the ss/tc but i doubt it. It's definately an amazing handling machine and even has some decent top end with the enlarged exhaust. It's the same engine as in 70% of the 03+ Tiburons u see out there, the others have the V6 which is a POS engine. This 2.0L engine has seen up to 10.5seconds on the 1/4mile with turbo/nitrous and a built engine by others around the world.

Let me know how it is. Looks like an action movie from the 80s (in a good way)

Haha, i'm sure it'll be good. Its got Jason Stratham (sp?) in it. It reminds me of the old arcade game "Badlands" too. And Vigilante 8 (for N64 and PS for those old enough to remember those days, lol)

So the car is at the dealership now, and they called me up.

SMP: "So, the technician has some questions about your car.......apparently there is some after-market system on the supercharger?"
Me: "Yeah, that's GM Stage 2, fully warrantied and installed by a dealership"
SMP: "MMmmmk, well, there might be some problems with that, but we will let you know. We still have no idea what caused your CEL"
Me: "OK, my friends and I think it is a leaky gasket somewhere. Here is the phone number for my dealership in Winnipeg to verify everything........"
SMP "Mmmmmmk..... We will call you back"

OK, now I am nervous. I can't wait to pay this car off so I don't have to rely on the warranty "promises" of GM.....Useless "extended" warranty.....

Holy eff. They actually noticed the Stage 2 pulley?
They were too dumb to know that I had one on mine...

Oh god......lol

I asked him if he knew what came with Stage 2 (cause it has nothing to do with the CELs I was getting)

I think they were trying to get it out of their shop, saying I have to bring it in stock. But as soon as I said it was warrantied Stage 2, he got all Hmmmm and Hahhhhh.....

Is this dealership really OK to deal with? I know NO dealerships in Canada know **** about our cars - but is there a better one?

Well.. there are 3 in S'toon. SMP, Sherwood, and Wheaton. They are all about the same. And it's hit and miss with the techs at each anyways.

It's kind of a viscious circle - we don't trust them, they dont know enough and dont trust us....

Wheaton is a Pontiac GMC Caddy dealer, and haven't seen a 2.0L Cobalt until i took mine in for a Stage II belt change (Thanks still to Tyler!) and at that, they took the full hour and a half the "book" said for a belt change... jeese.

Just called. They are now "test driving" my baby, no idea what is causing the "lean code" and are telling me that i can't pick it up today - if I do they will charge me time. If I leave it there for god knows how many days these retards need, then it "may" be warrantied. Apparently they had to call GM Tech line 2 times already.......yeesh

==========================

Got my car back. They checked "everything" and dumped injector cleaner in the tank. They said they can't prove anything is wrong right now, so they can't charge it to warranty. So, since i don't want to leave my car there with then for days upon days, they charged me $266. They said if somehow I can prove it is a warranty problem down the road, they will charge GM and pay me back - yeah......

P0171.
What the tech tried:
-Found bulletin to replace injectors, but since I have stage 2, and the bulletin doesn't mention stage 2, they didn't replace them
-Found other bulletins mentioning to make sure I have the latest flash. Checked my software, it is up to date
-GM TAC Case#10454260 (Steve) who said it could be plugged injectors or leaking gasket
-Fuel pressure checked - OK
-Checked for leaks under the car, blue exhaust manifold - checked, no leaks
-Put in injector cleaner. Wants to see if it changes fuel trim at idle (Now at 22%, if it drops after the tank of cleaner goes through, it was a dirty injector)

That's it - I am to come back if the problem persists, and I may or may not be covered under warranty at that point.... My plan is that "yes sir, the problem is fixed!" And if I get another CEL, I will put the next $266 towards HPT for chrissake.....

My tires just came in last night! 4 days from Indiana! Tirerack FTW!!!!

I should also add that anyone taking there car to SMP should deal with Michelle as a service advisor. She has been great about all my issues.
