dont do perfection. stay away from perfection. novakoski seems to be a really good place to deal with. everyone seems to leaves there happy. i have also dealt with marks autobody and was relativly pleased with them.

Goodluck man, i find dealing with SGI such a pain in the ass, they can be unbelieveable at times.

Holy Crap. The car is Fn crazy now. Pulls like mad through every gear, mind you tonight was the perfect temp. When i got home though noticed a smell so i peeked under the hood. Oil everywhere. Dipstick was shot out. Gotta look back through my pics and see if i had it shoved in all the way. Or maybe PVC fuct.

Nice man - nice. Got the 2.85 on and the extra tank too? The popped dipstick thing - there are threads on it....not sure what it is again, but I think it is common.

Could be too much crank case pressure - try plugging the tube for the intake and putting a crank case filter on. (If it keeps happening and wasn't an install oopsy)

Kavia for sure. I smash cars all the time lol. they do nice work.
I think i'm just gonna change the pcv and zip tie down the dipstick just enough so it won't pop out all the way. See what happens and go from there. If it pops up I'll prolly change the intake gasket this winter cause supposedly that is "the fix".

So, I just got off the phone with Debbie at GM Customer Service. We had a ..... conversation. I explained how I brought my car into SMP for an intermittent CEL, and they found nothing wrong. They gave me the option to pay for the labour or leave the car there until a problem could be found (at which time I may or may not have to pay anyway). I opted to get my car away from them as soon as possible and pay the $266.
GM: Was the technician able to replicate the CEL?
Me: That is irrelevant, the problem was an intermittent CEL that the computer had documented as a lean code, P0171. Therefore there was something causing a lean burn.
GM: Well, unfortunately, the dealership cannot charge us for warranty work if there is no problem found. If the problem happens again, you can take it to the dealer and they can fix it and re-imburse all related previous charges.
Me: Well, I took it home that day - and the CEL came on while driving it home - and I fixed the problem in 30 minutes at home.
GM: How were you able to do this?
Me: I have access to a code reader and the internet. I read what the causes may be, and fixed it myself.
GM: That's unfortunate, because we cannot reimburse you unless the problem comes back.
Me: That is bad logic. That encourages me to go out to my garage, loosen some bolts and drive to the dealership and have them "fix" it again.
GM: We wouldn't want you to do that.
Me: True, but you are telling me that GM's policy is only allowing you to pay me back in that way.
GM: Silence

The rest of the conversation continued in similar pwnage. I complained how the extended warranty was explained / sold to me in the wrong way. I also complained that I didn't have this problem with Orion.

So basically, I have to eat the $266, or falsely recreate the problem. I'm above fraud - slightly, so I'll eat the $266. But it will cost SMP because I will now drive wherever I need to for better service. It will cost GM, because Maki's next car (to be purchased this year) will not be a GM car. I'd say that is worth more than $266.

I hear ya. I had an ongoing battle with a GM rep for over 2 months while my car was in the delearship having the transmission and clutch replaced about 3 times over because they were complete idiots. I really would re-create the lean code if you can (via ripping an injector o-ring.... this will cause the code or if you have another method) and take it back in and get your money back. It's not fraud if they're screwing you around like that and i'm pretty sure any court system would see it the same way after hearing what was going on.

Had mine done under waranty on my 04 redline and it fixed the issues with the PCV and idle surge.

Dunno if I want to even attempt the warranty thing. I would think the gm mechanic would notice that the engine has aftermarket mods. If he didn't then i probably wouldn't want him workin on my engine anyways

I bought my 04 redline from here in Saskatoon and got hosed but it was the car I wanted so whatever, I was interested in trading it in on an 07 since it was the last production year for the ion redline so I went in and had them draw up what they would give me on trade for my 04 towards an 07. They came back with a price of 38,000 after trade and financing for 8 years so I walked out. Called up Saturn of Edmonton the next day and they had the exact car I wanted on there lot and came back with a price of 23,500 and 18,000 for my trade with 72 months financing at 0% so i went for it.

I always used to freak out at Saturn Of Saskatoon because everytime I took my 04 in for service they would put one of those stupid license plate brackets on with the "saturn of saskatoon" logo on it. I told them I hated having dealer decals and what not on my car so finally they stopped doing it. I now make sure to have my Saturn of Edmonton decal and license plate bracket on when i take my 07 in now, but I haven't had any issues getting warranty work done there still even having not bought the car there. The issues I have with them is incompetency and damaging my vehicle WHILE it is in there possession for warranty repairs. It's not the tech that I have the issue with as they have one tech that is very good. It seems that the shop boys they have are complete retards so now when i go in i make a point of telling them i don't want anyone but the tech touching my car.... not even for a wash before they give it back to me.

Ya i bought my first Redline in Stoon. When i totalled it i had full replacement and tried to get them to bring me one in. They dicked me around for weeks saying they were getting me the car then tried to sell me their 05 when it was near the end of the 06 model yr. Then it was pretty obvious they suck so i jumped on a plane with a check for the car in Calgary. When i showed up with it they were pissed at me for doing that. I just bought a car from them 2 months earlier and they pretty much turned their backs on me for going to Calgary. Kinda made a point not to go there since.

Yeah they looked at me pretty funny when i walked in the first time i needed service on my 07. I think they had finally gotten rid of me when i hadn't brought my 04 in for anything for almost 6 months.
