Wow, this keeps gettin worse. Now they are claiming my clutch and flywheel need to be replaced due to possible racing. I am sure there are alot more people on here that don't have this problem and there clutches are better than mine. I physically saw it and it doesn't look good but i've had tranny problems since I bought the thing.
Soooo what clutch brands, other then the stock gm ****, is good to go with? Centerforce, Exedy, Spec?

If and when mine goes, i'm looking at a Fidanza Clutch. They have a nice setup with their STS Twin Turbo C6 Vette (in this months Corvette Mag), and i'm confident enough in that to give them my money. Though i haven't looked at prices yet, or found a supplier... =/

I'll maybe give him a shout then too. Are Spec's garbage? I've heard mixed reviews? I'd probably go with a 2+ or 3+. If i'm spending the money, might as well get something badass.

OMG, I am so gratefull that I get to do all my own **** if ever the need rises. Hey, flatgod thanks for the plate, have my fitting coming soon and will be getting on that right away.
On the clutches, I personally like the spec brand as the best, have personally used them on my other Z28, installed them on many vehicles with great success. I still havent used much centerforce for anything other than muscle cars, with success. Fidanza, I like their flywheels but not sold on the clutches yet. Exedy, wayyyy too fking expensive.
Just my thoughts.
Centerforce DF010249 includes aluminum flywheel 850.00
Spec Stage 2+ SC073H for use w/ stock flywheel 825.00
Spec Stage 2+ SC073H-2 for use w/ spec flywheel 825.00
Spec Aluminum flywheel SC07A-2 480.00
Have to call for exedy prices yet but they incl. aluminum flywheel.

Thanks for posting those prices. Well I called around, no one in this city seems to sell Spec except GSS. Every place i've called says to use Centerforce and not Spec. Price I was given by most places was $1049+tax for the Centerforce GFX w/ Aluminum Flywheel included. My dad had tons of work done at Davenport Motorsport in Calgary so he's checking what kind of deal I can get there (unless GSS can move on those prices hahaha).

Thanks Rippen, but you posted $825 for both the top Spec clutches. One with, one without Spec flywheel? Is it Spec specific, the one? And then how much weight or strength advantage over a stock flywheel? Or do you know?

Spec billet 360: This package converts the restrictive and vague factory SAC type pressure plate to a SPEC exclusive billet 360 degree pivot unit with higher load/rpm ability, better drivability and longer life than can be achieved with the factory design.
Nothing on weight differences but judging you are going from steel to aluminum, I wouldnt be surprised if the weight is almost cut in 25-50%.
Here is a link with the torque capabilities of each clutch for our cars too:

1way - PRO 1WSHR comes with 2 fobs, 1 way starter, includes door locks and trunk as well as clutch bypass and starter kill - I'll do it for 290 plus tax (normally we charge around 400ish for this car and starter combo)
2-way - PRO P2WSHLEDR comes with 1 LED style 2way fob and 1 regular 1 way fob, includes everything as above - 400 plus tax (these usually go in for anywhere from 560 and up)
2-way - PRO P2W9000FMR comes with 1 LCD screen style 2 way fob and 1 regular 1 way fob, includes everything as above but also has the integrated alarm which includes shock sensor, siren, Remote Pager, and displays temperature of the vehicle, and battery voltage on the LCD screen, also has cold start ability and turbo timer which ive never used - now usually we put these in starting at anwyhere from 800 and up but I can probably do them for 580, I'll need a little more time for these if anyone wants one as they take a bit longer to do.
I have been using the PRO 2way LCD version for the last 2 years in both my redline and silverado and have never had one problem. Just to let you know how the remote start procedure works for these cars with the manual trans. Pull up to parking spot apply e-brake (leave car in neutral obviously) and turn key off without foot on brake. The car will stay running once you pull the key, it will shut off once you exit the vehicle and close the door. After closing the door it will lock the doors which turns off the radio and other features requiring RAP shutdown. The 2 way remote will be paged letting it know that reservation mode has been set. And now you can remote start the car as normal. The only catch is that you cannot open the door of the car at anytime before trying to remote start the car, this is done as a safety mechanism so that you can't accidentally throw the car back in gear once reservation mode has been set.
These prices only apply if you guys are ok with me doing them after hours on my free time. If you want them done during store hours then normal pricing applies. You will still have warranty and service and everything from our store just trying to save ya some money on labour. Any other questions let me know!

Some dude tried to brake check me tonight when I was trying to get him to move over into the right lane so I could pass him (is that not law here, it doesnt seem to be)... anyways he broke loose and I thought he was going to take us both out. So pissed.
In other news, I just sold my crappy continentals with half thread for $120 tonight to some guy who worked at New Holland on 71st. Pretty decent deal I guess.

If somebody pulled the **** he did where I learned to drive, he'd get put into the median. It was dark so I couldn't tell, but it was some dude in a four door 2.2 G5 with the $10 fog lights in the center of the lower grill.

You should have put him into the median.
*Woot, new sig!*

Hey! We got a new addition to the family today! My brother picked up an 06 SS SC G85 equipped Cobalt today from Brandon. Only 28 xxx Kms on it, no OnStar, XM, or side impact air bags though. Black, Recaro/black interior, Gunmetal rims, bone stock.
It drives very nice, and the Recaros fit like a glove!! I will get some pics up asap.

He browses, but doesn't post yet. He wanted to wait till he had a cool sig i guess. lol
And WOW does the G85 ever make the difference in the snow! It drives almost 25-30% better then mine in the snow! It just picks up and grabs, take off, handling is nice, right all the way through the corner! Very steady, even in some heavy snow waves, although i haven't really driven mine a lot in the snow.

Limited slip differential.... and honestly i think that it's all in your head/different tires because I've used the same tires from my current redline on my old redline which wasn't LSD and I can't tell a damn difference in the snow. The only time I can tell that thing is there is when you're on the gas hard in a corner on dry pavement.
#1800
I can tell a difference. He has Goodyear Eagle GT All Season Mud and Snow tires, and that makes the most difference, but takeoffs, and cornering you really can tell the G85 is there. No peg-legged takeoffs for him! I want to swap trannys with him, but he won't let me. lol
