Western Canada Cobalt Meet 2009 - Registration & General Discussion Thread

I know some people don't get/understand the concept of registering. They figure, if they show up, they show up. Ok, you can show up, but your not going to get to do anything, because you didn't sign up!
And since most of our participants are kids... (i'm guessing) they have not much for organization or punctuality.

Looks like I won't be able to make it up there this year. It sucks because I will be in Calgary during the week before the meet but not on the weekend. I need to be back in Moose Jaw that weekend which sucks.

Hey guys,
No problem. Sorry for freaking on you guys. Didn't mean to. I sent out the first 10 packages today. Frigging mail lady at the post office was really sticky about the way I had labeled the return addresses. I told her I've seen tons of other mail like that and that she should shove it where the sun doesn't shine (in less crude ways) and she took it and put it in her little white box. "Good day to you ma'am."
So the next bunch of packages I hope to send out when I get 4 more registrations.

The $35 pays for your registration for the meet AND for you to be able to use the dragstrip as much as you want. That seems like a pretty good deal to me!

To anybody who thinks $35 is too much for a fee:
Grow up. That's peanuts, and includes lots of things in it. Chad is spending more than he gets in gas, ink, paper, time, fax numbers, decals, postage, etc, etc etc, and that is a promise. You should be thankful that it's that CHEAP. I'm just sick of all the cheap asses on this site that poop on everything because it's not as cheap as it possibly can be. Just a result of young sideways hat wiggers driving an econobox thinking they know how the world works...... /rant
Anyway. Good job organising Chad. Looking forward to the weekend. And all those who complain about the fees and all that - just stay away, from this thread and the meet.

i agree with thought. $35 is an extremely good price for what we are getting. and its not even about just having the meet. but showing the cities and other car groups that having meets at dragstrips is possible and is the responsible way to do things when you wish to incorporate racing into a meet.

Thanks guys! Just want to put one more thing out there: I'm not getting anything out of this. Not one penny is profit for me. All profit that we have after paying the track will go towards either trophies or prizes, and after that, it's cash back into your pocket.
Thanks for backing me up. I've pushed the envelope to reduce costs as much as I possibly could.
And clarifying: AFTER JUNE 19 IS WHEN THE FEE GOES UP TO $35. If you register before that it's $28! $25 goes to the track and $3 is reserved for prizes and covering the cost of sending you your package. The only reason it goes up is to really influence people to register before then. And everyone that registers after just helps to get prizes.
The price also covers going to the Monster Jam. So go ahead and google, see if you can find something like this for cheaper. I betcha you won't. You can't go to a concert for this cheap. So come on. Really. You've either gotta be really freaking cheap or just really old for the price to be ridiculous.

People are funny, they will spend thousands on mods, thousands on premium gas, hundreds on wax and wash, hundreds on speeding tickets, etc... YET... when they have to pay a small, and I mean, SMALL fee for a good time they bitch and whine.
