I think it was that everyone that comes to the meet should bring some food to donate to the food bank. It would be great PR for the club...without question. And I am sure that we could get a lot of food too!

We could go to that one....or say whomever takes the food after from everyone who has donated can take it to their hometown and drop it off. We can always vote for that too.

Yup. That works too. Just to a random food bank. That sounds like a really good idea. It shows a positive image from us!

One of my good friends works at the Calgary drop in center, she could make sure the food goes to the right place(s). If DoubleLP can put it all in his truck and bring it back to Calgary I can arrange the location for dropping it off. The food would be dropped off at the Drop in Center but it would likely 99.9% be given to single mothers and struggling families, lol NOT the drunkass/crackass hobos.

If I am heading back to Calgary after. Remember I live in Fort McMurray....so if I am heading back here then I will bring it with me to here. And trust me it will go to the right people. My family has been here for almost 20 years....and in a smaller city you get to know a lot of people who work in many different places.

Can you copy paste into an email?

And normally, i would step up as a leader out of Sask, but my brother and i are headed up a day early just to get our cars cleaned up, and so we don't have a super early day.

Ya a majority of people on here spend how much on there cars, so you think $30 or $40 isn't that much for a local food bank donation.

Yeah, that's no problem at all. Just make sure you get everything. I do however would like to get the release signed, because that's kinda a biggie. Hate to be a pain. What I could do is mail you the registration. Let me know what works for you. Email does work, though, as long as you can sign the release (somehow).

I recommend everyone from Saskatchewan and beyond (BC too) do this. If I can find you guys a hotel (which I'm looking into right now, in another tab) I will post up all the information you need! Who all would like a hotel room? (We can probably do like 3-4 people in a room, that's a hotel rule I have to ask about)

My brother and i have an uncle in Spruce Grove, and a tent if we want... so don't worry about us.

Well, like i said in the other thread. Jen and I are in Maidstone (right on the 16, 2.5hrs from Edmonton)... and our place is open to those that want to crash there, or even throw up a tent for the night.

About the leader thing... I would volunteer again this year, however I'd only be leading part way. I think someone from S'toon would be better suited for the job.

Food bank sounds like a really good idea... Now has anyone thought of any media coverage on this event?

No media coverage. There's bigger meets than this every Friday night at castrol. Besides we don't want other people showing up thinkng it's a free open event.

Yeah. I prefer not to not have a **** load of cars crash this. There's an image I'd like to withhold with castrol so we can possibly do this again next year or the year after. He's only extending the offer to us, not to some joe schmo off the street. If they want to come race, there's street legal almost every friday night!

Not saying that we should be inviting people but maybe if we are donating all this to the food bank and everything else that ahs been put together... maybe a write up in the paper would be nice?

Maybe we could after the fact send a few pictures to a couple newspapers, but if we advertise it before... we could get some unwanted attention. I dunno. Do whatever. It's up to you.

I'd advise against it. Besides we should be donating to charity because we want to, not to generate publicity for the site. If the foodbank wants to run something afterwards to thank us then great.
