well i was planning on going saturday but i didnt look into it to see if there was events. If there is ill go friday night. I'll most likely be getting into edmonton friday now tho. Didnt realize Ont. was so long and most of the highway is 70kmh - 90kmh with police all over the place, had a undercover car follow me, think he was looking my plates up. Then he just took off, seen the strobe lights through the windows. Also i dont like driving when it starts getting dark out, im not familiar with the area and i dont like to chance it driving on the highway with moose and deer.

So yea, probably get in friday, clean the car, do some stuff i have to do then head to the track, ill let you know when im in the city tho.

indeed. Just hope i get enough to clean the car before then. I never seen my car like this before. Got bugs stuck to it still from Nova Scotia....went to a car wash but some of those bugs need a good scrubbing to get off not just preasure washer.

So on another note, i know this was covered a few pages back but i dont feel like going through all 29 pages. Mostly all people are camping at the track right? Just wondering what i should bring to the track besides food/drinks and clothes...and of course alot of meth.

So... Ryan (Denlou) and I were wondering if they are going to allow fires at the camp site?
I know... crazy question... but some places are nuts about those kinds of things.

It all depends on the fire bans. Denny never gave me a straight answer on the fires. Not in the pits, but if they have us camping somewhere else on the grounds, I dunno.

Didn't get any registrations today. Damn me for living out in the middle of ******* nowhere.

Hey Chad.. is the Mopar Club going to be there or did they back out? J/w since I hadn't heard anything about them for quite some time. And how many are we up to now? Enough I hope.. although I guess if there's less that means more track time

The Edmonton Mopar Club did drop out:
Hi,
After much discussion and weighing the pros and cons of sharing the track with the Cobalt Club the decision was made to back away from the event.
I explained the reasons to Chad in the message below. The reason for the late response is I have really been lobbying to make this happen. I need to work on my sales pitch as I have been unsuccessful to this point.
Our group also felt it would probably be more productive to start planning an event for next year after we see how our agreement and show works with Crosstown this summer.
Thank you for the work you have put into this event.

M***
Hi Chad,
The executive group reviewed your program and registration presentation. We haven't been able to garner alot of support to hold a Mopar cruise to the track in conjunction with your event to this point. Some of that is due to the unfriendly weather that has kept most of the members from attending any meetings with their cars and the fact we lost our website for over a month as our host went out of business. The first concern was the timing as a number of the executive group are already scheduled with other events and commitments. The other concern was the group felt it would be an encroachment on your event and may not be as well accepted as our initial thoughts. Unless something changes in the short term it is unlikely that we will pursue joining your group at your event. I will keep you posted as I am still lobbying members to create some interest.
Thanks!!
M***
(their site is back up)

So that just means... more track time for us!! We're up to 30 now. 50% of the RVSP'd number. So we're in the clear - over our $1000 quota! That doesn't mean you stop advertising the event.. the more profit we make, the better the prizes. Remember that.

well that sucks that the mopar guys are not comin. it is hard to sell a race to a old muscle guy when you are a 4 cyl. they tend to back away due to a fear of losin. if they were unorganized then shame on them. this would be a excellent chance for v8 and 4cyl. car guys to bridge a generation gap. which i'm finding at the shows i have attended so far this year the response i'm getting from alot of the older crowd. they know that we are the next generation and they support guys like us for the future of hotroding.

My brother in law is toying with the idea of coming, and he drives an 09 Challenger R/T so we may have at least one Mopar there.

The more the merrier. If we can get fourty five, I'll be really happy. We'd have a good enough profit I could get trophies for the show and shine, boy that'd be cool. Something to take home! I'm going to be getting quotes from a few trophy places around here to see.
