For the late comers registering.. they played the pity card... I'm sorry.
Fires - no idea. Probably a small one. I bet if you just put out a metal sheet powdercoated in black you could cook hot dogs on that. It's gonna be ******* 32 degrees boys!!
We'll put best judgement on people leaving. If you don't hold your alcohol well, don't bother. None of us (the whole group) will let you out. Food may be open during monster trucks. But there's no food open just for us.
I talked to Denny this evening. He's pulling quite a few strings for us, that's for damn sure. The track isn't even breaking even on this gig. Not even close. We have to consider us really lucky to be able to do this this weekend!! The track will be set up with minimal track crew, of course it'll be prepped, and the lights will be set to automatic, so my assumption is you pull up, stage, go, and somewhere the slip gets printed and you go on your merry way, no human intervention. Bugs in the system? I hope not. Speaking of money, I think I fucked up somewhere... I'm gonna have to figure it out.
As for the schedule:
11:00am - I will arrive, move berms and ****. You guys can start showing up. Single file please!! If you are arriving following a team leader make sure the team leader is in front of everyone he's/she's leading. That way we can keep track of things. We will have all your registrations at the gate, and if there's anything wrong with your registration, we'll make you fix it up there and then. It's all just you didn't sign the release, or something silly like that. No biggies. If it involved money, I would have called you. If you have extra guests coming with you that weren't paid for, each one is $20 at the gate. Have it ready!
2:00pm - Racing begins. If we don't get slips, it's up to you to keep track of your times. I don't know what's happening there yet. Just go line up when you're ready, if you have a walkie talkie with you, I'm going to have mine set to channel 12. I'll broadcast 15 or so minutes before they open the track for us, and we can start lining up then. Things should move fairly quickly. Take turns! We should be able to get in at least 5 runs each. At least I hope so.
4:00pm - Racing is done. Find your best times and put them in the box with your name on them. Vote for all the trophy categories while you're at it!
4:30pm - I'll tabulate the winners.
5:00pm - Trophy presentation. Supper wherever you've planned. Hot dogs over a fire (if allowed), burgers if someone brings a stove... bring your own food!
7:00pm - Monster trucks!!
10:00pm - I'm anticipating the trucks will be done by then. If you're camping, go party. If you're finding your own way, party, but if you drink... be prepared to stay. None of us want a tarnished record with the Leduc RCMP!!
As for camping/own accommodations.... don't worry about whether you marked own or camping on the form. It was just a way to know if we were gonna have enough to camp. We do. If you've changed your mind, bring a tent/tent trailer/trailer/motorhome/semi/tarp/cardboard box/paper bag/etc.
Here's an informative photograph I personally took of the pit area just yesterday from my private biplane. (haha, bullshit. creds actually go to my boys down at Google, Inc.)
I'm pretty damn stoked about Saturday! It's gonna be a real blast. Remember: wear jeans or something that will protect your legs like jeans for racing. Shorts DO NOT CUT IT! Drive safe up here, and don't go and drink too much. We're out here to set an example and secure our place to come back next year (if that's what we wanna do). See you guys soon!!
