The drinking is Saturday night after racing. The monster trucks are on Sunday so everyone has to be out by Sunday morning. That's when we're going on crusies if anyone wants to go.

Read the little itinerary on the home page. We're getting into the Monster Trucks on Saturday night for free. Beer is served there by the track. However beer afterwards is your own deal. Monster trucks will be over sometime after 10 or 11pm. So if you want to go for a cruise that late, sure, but keep in mind that we're kicked out of Castrol at 10am on Sunday and that we could do it then and then meet at a Timmies in Edmonton for lunch and then skidaddle from there. Opinions?

Not to be a buzz kill here or anything, but just a legit question...

What if it's raining or really shitty weather?

This is Alberta after all...it could snow for all we know.

As for your thought chad, a quick cruise would be kinda neat Saturday night for those who don't want to drink but for those who do, then just stay back and have fun. For those who want to do both, well you decide what's more important. I like the sunday cruise idea though. That sounds good to me.

And for those of you who are coming from out of town, might seem kinda obvious to locals, but if you go cruise on saturday and are on whyte ave. or jasper ave., watch for cops, but also really watch for the dumb drunks. they will run in front of you like complete idiots. so many times that has happened... (and boobies...watch for them too or wangs...i won't judge you)

Hey! They're cool! They change live when I change a number in the table, they animate to the new positions. It's so cool!

Well I guess it sounds like the majority of people who bother to read this thread agree that a night cruise would be a good idea. Where around in Edmonton? Avoiding Whyte Ave and the other trouble spots is probably a good idea!

just a fyi for those of you who have never lived in a bigger city...

10-20 cars crusing around all together on a saturday late at night gets nothing but attention from the cops...

I'm not too sure... not from Edmonton, but somewhere where people can see the work that we did to our car for this meet. I spent over 12 hrs getting my car ready for that last meet and no offence to anyone but it wasn't worth it. I would like it to be worth it this time.

Im not saying it will happen, but Im just warning you that the cops are cracking down on street racing and anyone who fits that profile gets attention.

Yeh agreed, but as long as people aren't street racing and are just going for a cruise... will be okay!

For sure. Wherever we do cruise I will be calling the local detachment and letting them know we're coming because the last thing we need is to have them rain on our parade and turn into a Sylvan Lake. What if we went to a smaller town? We probably wouldn't get so much attention from RCMP there.

... I type too slow.

we went to a small town last year and had attention...

In drumhellar they were waiting for us on the roads in.
They drove by the parking lot every ten minutes.
Also they made point to drive alllll the way ddown to the camp ground to patrol and watch us. I left the ccamp ground and was followed for 20 mins allll the way back to town. it was rediculous.

Holy crap.

Okay, well, I guess wherever we go we're kinda hooped. We're bound to get attention. But being at the Castrol Raceway will be a good thing because they'll know we're the good club. Not the bad one that will street race because we're doing it where they want us to. Hopefully they share the same feelings.

Drumheller police are bad though, i grew up just NE of there on a farm and they have always been bad. When i seen you guys were having the meet there last year i was thinking that might be a problem. ( I would have been there but i was getting married when you had it)

personally, i think this was the reason for all the 5-0 watching us last year. as soon as 3 of us left the walmart and went for a cruise, we didn't get one bit of attention from the cops. most of the cops we saw were busy circling that end of town. if anything, phone the EPS and invite them to bring their 15.5 second (IIRC) tiburon out to the track. if we cruise edmonton with that thing we won't see one bit of harrasment from the EPS. not to mention, the sherriffs and DOT are known to sit on hwy 19 just east of the track to catch guys ripping out of there. letting them know what we're doing and approx. what time will guarantee that they are there, and they will pull you over to inspect your car and hand out tickets. how many people want to get a bullshit ticket for exhaust, smoked lights, etc.?

Seriously? I did not see one cop while we were there. And I even contacted them BEFORE we went and got the ok from them that nothing would happen unless people broke the law.

If you don't break the law, nothing will happen. Pretty easy if you ask me.

And honestly...if you were a cop and saw about 30 or more cars in one spot all of a sudden, especially tricked out cars....I certainly would be expecting some problems and would be watching more attentively. More then anything they just wanted to make sure that we knew they were around and for us to behave.

There is a guy on 780tuners, Blocker I think..., who works for EPS and is part of the Tiburon and I think the Camaro or something they got now, can't remeber. Talk to him.

I sent him a pm asking what it would take to have them come out, but never told him when we have it or anything.
