2009 Cobalt SS sedan
Ron Kawal in Sequim, Wa 98382 - 360 683 9238 or ron@kawal.net - bought this car new with less than 100 miles on it, and now it has 18,950 miles (95% highway miles).
It has never been raced or 'launched', always garaged, and is in excellent condition inside and out. No scratches (except under the air splitter(?)), dents, or dings.
I have the original antenna, body stickers (emblems, etc), and recall issues fixed (electric steering and ignition switch).
It still has it's original tires which might indicate how this car has been driven. Everything is stock & original (except what is noted in the previous paragraph).
It has LSD and no moon roof.
I have a never-been-used complete set of factory manuals (3 books), factory window stickers, and all paper work, including a mileage book showing gas mileage and where the car has been. The car was never loaned to anyone to drive.
$17.000 OBO

I think it's a great car for a collector to squirrel away... problem is it is such a quirky limited run vehicle that not enough people have ever heard of it. This is a crap-ass rental car cobalt They have zero cool factor or looks. All this will surely affect future value. . I paid $8300 for my SS/TC sedan with 80k mi. a couple months ago. He was asking $11k. Not one call in 2 months the guy said. I was the only call he had. I am going to drive this thing into the ground. I love it but most people do not.
I hope this silver one is still around in 4-5 years when I'm ready for another. Nice car. GLWS. I'd pay $12k for it now.

Unused SS sedan
You are all correct it seems.
It don't know why I bought it, other than it's rarity and it's performance for the money.
Unfortunately, I never used the performance.
$17,000 was just a starting point to sell, but for now, my cost per mile would be to high to justify a fair offer like $12,000. For that I could probably trade it in and save private party hassle. Here in Washington, when buying a new car you can pay less sales tax with a trade in.
I guess it'll just be taken out of my garage for a short drive every month or so.

Everyone said the exact same thing about the GTO's, Nova's, & Challengers back in the day. Look at them now. Will the Cobalt ever be worth a lot? Prob. not, but that doesn't mean it won't one day be a collectors car.
OP, very nice car.... Someone will pick this up. Don't listen to the kiddies on here. Most of them are broke and living in mom and dad's basement.
imo this is prob true, lol.... but ya never know.

The thing is if you trade it in you're not going to get anywhere near $16k for it.
I would be shocked if a dealer gave you 66% of your asking price. I am not trying to be a party pooper but just pointing out the cold truth. The dealers can care less about any sentimental value, perceived collect ability or anything else other than what they could get a comparable car for at auction. That's it. That would make your tax break not even worth it vs trying to sell it private party. To them it's strictly business.
I don't suppose you're looking for a nice touring motorcycle? I have one that I am selling.
Even if you aren't I am very interested in it and am willing to discuss it via email.

Thank you.
Ford quoted me 6.2k last week.
I like seeing what it is worth in terms of trade in values every few years.
They take a big hit in terms of trade in as the years go by.

Further musings
I drove the car yesterday and noticed that it still has the new car smell.
Have you seen my Picasa Web Album on it? If they won't allow the link below, just 'Google' "picasa 2009 Cobalt Sedan".

It will be worth something in the future, too many times ppl say cars wont be worth crap but then 30 years later ppl are paying out the ass for them. think 60's and 70's muscle. My dad even said they were everywhere and cheap 5-10 years later, he had a lot of them. Nobody cared then, now they care lol
Its just a matter of time.

Lowered the price to $16000 OR BEST OFFER
I hate to do this (don't we all!), but Lowering the starting price to $16000 may help. I can help deliver if necessary, although I presume one would come here to see the car first anyway. Maybe it's too bad I live in the NW corner of the country.
