Cobalt Turbo Stage I Kits in Stock
#51
I'm a bit confused. When reading the installation instructions it states the following: Initially, the kit will be available for 2007-09 Solstice GXP and SKY Redline and 2008-09 HHR SS. A kit is in the works for the Cobalt SS and will carry a different part number and will have different kit content. A new air cleaner and turbo inlet duct will be included. So does this mean the kit with number #19212670 is NOT for the 2008-2009 Cobalt LNF engine? Help.

The new intake will be coming in a few months...

GM originally was going to use a different part number. Because we are not including the cold air intake tube the kit remains the same as the Solstice, Sky, and HHR's.
I have no way of changing the instructions but as GM updates them I can change the link.

I know I will! Just placed my order so I can have it ready to go when the tune arrives...it is impossible for the dealers to run out of tunes! Just need your VIN and the code that comes with the parts!

Tom, thanks for clearing it up. When the cold air intake becomes available, will you carry it? If so, does the price include that intake or will it have additional cost? Sorry about all the questions.

When this kit came out in December for the other vehicles, I think he bought up like 50 of them and other dealers were trying to get them from him...he is on top of it!

Really is a good business to run.

I am talking with GM almost daily about this kit as well as any other additions that may come out. I will be carring them once they are released.
The cold Air intake upgrade would be an additional cost.
The original plans were to have it as part of this kit, (the part number would have been different and the price would have been higher) so at least we have a kit we will be able to flash and give the Cobalts a GM Tune to go with.
In an ideal world it would have been great to have this released a long time ago but GM also has to certifiy all these upgrades with federal and state emissions laws. Also keep in mind that should you have a problem you can work with your local dealer as its covered by the GM warranty.

Hahaha bad1, wait isnt a gm part sort of staying stock?
Tom thank you so much for the part!
I talked to Tom and it sounds like GM is going to keep the two stage kits separate parts, meaning stage 1 will only be the sensors/tune and stage 2 is the intake. There will be no mixed kit like the SC kit. So if you were waiting for a cheaper kit, supposedly it wont happen. So I just said screw it and bought it it was so worth a free tshirt :P

Im assuming us Canadians can buy this kit from you and still get the tune from our local dealer??????
just contacted a friend of mine at a dealer and from that part number his cost is $750 CDN and the list price is over $1100 CDN.
With currency conversion on $550 USD is roughly 591.754 CDN. I would much rather pay $600 then his $750 or $1100 List.
talk about GM raping the Canadiens.

Shouldn't any aftermarket tune eliminate the "learn down" feature? If it didn't, how can the car still pull 22psi and stay tuned? If the "learn down" feature wasn't disabled, it would go back to the stock tune.
#72
yes all tunes diable the learn down feature but with most tunes if you throw a down pipe, catback, and intake with out getting retuned for it you wont really feel the power because our cars r basicly canned at that point

That is correct you won't need to get retuned. Since the learn down feature is turned off, if you make the engine run more efficiently (getting the air in and out with less restriction) you will get the added HP & TQ.
