That's what's been happening to the dealers that owe GMAC more money than they can pay. Maybe they are a different circumstance, but that's what's been going down.

I bought my truck thru a GMC dealership and they have been having hardships as well. I go to this dealership cause they are by far the best one I've ever dealt with..

the service is great and I hope that they don't get caught in this slump.

The Big 3 have also been offering buyouts to dealers where they feel it's in their best interest to combine franchises. Ford has been doing that a lot near me, but not so much GM. They'll have two or even three dealers within the same area and they'll offer to buy back one or more of the franchises so they can merge it with a larger or more profitable one.

Yeah, having something like 2,500 dealers in only 50 states is a little overwhelming. It's gonna suck for the people who have to drive far out of their way now for service.

But I know what they mean. They have customers shopping at one dealer and then driving no more than 15 miles away to the other dealer to get a better price. It's just not in the dealers best interest to have that kind of "competition" in town.

This is the official word. Yes Lattof Chevrolet will be closing the doors on Oct 10th.

CrateEngineDepot.com maybe bought by another dealer, if this happens I (Tom) may be going with it. If I don't go with it I will be hired on by another dealer and I will be starting a new website and continue on with business just as I have done with CED. So while there maybe some delay in orders placed later this week all orders will be filled by either CED or the new site. I will remain a vendor with CSS.net
I do want to thank all of you for all the support and business that you have given over the last few years and I look forward to working with you in the future as well.

All orders placed so far have been filled and are due to ship out today so no worries for those of you who have just placed orders.

I have personally enjoyed working with Tom and the folks at CED and Lattof, and I look forward to continuing at the new location. Let's do what we can to support CED!

It's a tough time for everyone, folks. All we can do is support one another and try to help each other out as much as we can. Buy American!

Stopped and met Tom last Christmas. Great guy, and great service with my orders from him as well. Glad to see your position is secure in one manner or another.

Thank you everyone for the kind words, its sites like this one that makes my job fun to go to.

We are still open this week and I work to keep the orders going. I will update CSS.net once I move and let everyone know where to continue to get your GM Parts.
