gmpp :'(
well ive been saving for my gmpp touring catback for a while now. i just went to see how much the shipping would be and the price went up from 499.99 to 545!
when it was 499.99 it said "new everyday low price!" so i wasnt in a rush to get it. now its almost 50 bucks more so instead of 542 shipped its going to be 587 shipped. thats 50 bucks i dont have right now. plus 50 bucks goes a long way in gas and food for my already low paying job.
i just am ranting that its bs that they advertise as the 500 being the new everyday price and then raise it as soon as i get the money.

not to be a jerk but it's been pretty well known about the price raise thats why CED was running a sale awhile back.. not to mention there are other exhausts you could do for that price that are better and ones you can do for cheaper as well gmpp= not the best way to go

Save yourself a lot of money....
Go to your local MUFFLER SHOP
Ask for 2.5 piping, ex: 2.5" glasspack resonator, and a 2.5" straight thru magnaflow muffler, and a 4" tip of choice.
Should be at the MOST!!! $400... Thats pushing it too... Should run ya around $300.
I'm more than satisfied with the sound and (performance, though I'm tuned for 2.7" and 60s)
If you would like, possible later today I can film a video and post it up.

i heard it was a sale too, but it said "new EVERYDAY low price" thats why i thought they just dropped the price.
and i have a 2.2 that is only ever going to have bolt ons. i have an intake and a zzp header/catless dp in my room. my friend had a catless dp with his gmpp performance and it sounded really good, it was just a tad too loud inside. i wanted the touring to take the edge off, and am installing sound dampening mat in my trunk for the exhaust noise and for my sub.
plus its 2.25 piping which is kind of what i want. i feel that a full 2.5 exhaust is a bit overkill for what my car will be and will just add more rasp to what i have (hopefully not much lol).

call me crazy, but mods to a car are a luxury, a privilege if you will. If you are that strapped for cash that a 50 dollar difference is significant, and your job "pays crappy" enough for you to mention it. Then why, OH WHY, are you buying a 600 dollar exhaust? I really don't get this post.

right now i just have a muffler on my car (flowmaster 50 delta flow) and it sounds really really good. but i know if i put the catless dp on it will be unbearably raspy. once in a while in a first/second gear sprint when the rpms climb too quickly it will let out a bit of rasp for a second or so.
ive heard the gmpp touring and i guess im biased towards it for no reason really. i see what your saying with the 2.4 exhaust, but i cant see myself putting another stock exhaust on my car. i know i will see some gains, but i couldnt bring myself to do it.
i know the touring with the zzp catless combo will still be loud, but not as loud as any other aftermarket catback. i just want it to sound good yet be optimal for my car. and i dont believe 2.5 is optimal (too big)
becuase i just got enough money to buy it and the price was raised. tell me that wouldnt make you mad. it could be anything though. say you really wanted _______ and it cost a grand. you saved your money to get it as it was almost like a goal of yours. you finally get the grand and you go to buy the ________ and the price went up to 1200. that wouldnt upset you?
and all you perverts out there, i know what you want to post as being in the blanks. lol
edit: and 50 bucks is a 10% increase. which is significant if you ask me. 50 is a lot when dealing with 500 bucks

ive thought about that too, going custom. but then its a mystery as to how it will sound. like if i heard your video. you have an lsj, 2.5, and possibly different mufflers/resonators than i would choose.
its pretty much a gamble. im sure it would sound great, but it would tear me apart afterwards thinking how it would sound if i would have gone with this muffler or that muffler. you get what im saying. im going to do that if i buy a catback too but it wont be as bad as if i chose the components.

well like i said the stock 2.4 / 2.0 catback could be good for you
thats the stock catback with the zzp combo.. should sound similar

mine is catless though. ha ha. its going to make a big difference.
like i said above, i heard my friends catless on his gmpp performance and really liked it. i want the touring to take a tad of the edge off though. this thread turned into which exhaust, but it only started as damn ced raised the price. i kind of had my mind set on the gmpp because of no future plans for my car/ need for a larger diameter exhaust. and the smaller to keep the rasp down.
from the stock 2.2 piping which drops to 1.9ish at one point (so we shall say 2 inch), the 2.25 has a .834 square inch greater flow area. which is significantly larger.
a 2.5 catback will have a 1.77 square inch greater flow area. which is huge
just so we are on the same page i did (pi)r^2 of the bigger and subtracted (pi)r^2 of the smaller (smaller being stock)
