STOCK MS3 1/4 mile slips ... THE TRUTH!

(Got This Directly From The MS3 Forums)
http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.ph...830#msg1657830

So as you can see below, a stock MS3 is basically a 14.5 sec. car. No 13.XX time slips to be found here anywhere ....

I mean, my own box stock SS/SC has run a 14.87 - and I've only been down the drag strip just a couple of times!

And seeing how I paid thousands LESS for my SS/SC than a MS3 would have cost me ... everyone would have to agree that:

SS/SC = Tremendous Value/Performance

(P.S. I don't hate on MS3's, but the TRUTH is the TRUTH)

No offense but those first two timeslips have horrible 60fts, so no the MS3 is not a 14.5 sec car. It's a 14.5 sec car with a shitty driver, the car is capable of a 13.9 stock, just like the SS S/C is capable of very low 14's stock you just have to be able to drive it.

The truth also is you're a SS S/C fanboy and you overlook the fact that you're comparing two cars that are not in the same market.

that's like taking one of our many supercharged 15 second time slips and saying hte cobalt is a 15 second car, and you have proof. it means nothing.

a much loved ms3 member here will soon be hitting 12's and probably even 11's for not a whole lot of money.

also, where are those slips from? how was the track prep, eleavation, etc.

lol thats funny i went 14.2 @ 101 stock You want youtube vids of bone stock ms3 going 13.9 at 101? How bout one going 13.7 @ 100? The only thing the 13.7 guy changed was he went from 18s to 16s.

My next trip to the track will be 12s on street tires.
My mod list as of right now, not all installed, mosly in the mail
EMS
Intake
Fully TBE
Upgraded Fuel pump.

Thats an easy 330-350whp.

13.7
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_hfU0Dknss
like i said just smaller 16 in wheels in the front. STreet tires not slicks or drag radials

Here is repeated 13.9 out of a bone stock one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xumk_VbvcNM

Here is a nice 13.6 @ 103 with just an intake.

Mazdaspeed 3 are 14.5 second cars if you cant drive. Put that driver in a cobalt and hell be running low 15s.

can I ask why these cars even get discussed in these forums? this is a cobalt forum, why is there any detailed discussion of a mazda. I could maybe see a different chevy or gm product but we're dealing with mazda/ford here. talk about these cars in their own forums.

boost limits only hold the car back if it'll actually get traction. Removing the boost limit in 1'st would probably cause many people to get worse 60's.

MS3 is a great car......and it has been proven over and over again that it gets better 1/4 mile times stock then the SS S/C.

Driver Mod, and from what I've noticed the 50 is easier to launch cause you don't have ptob.

guaranteed laloosh is in the 11's in the next few months and spent the same amount of money or less than it takes a cobalt to get into the low 13's.

on a side note, he just put on a tbe and that thing sounds sick as hell. i wish the exhausts on our car sounded like that.
