Timeslips From Last Night
Well for all you haters out there that cant believe a bone stock 2.4 5spd. can run 14s here are the timeslips!!! I'm not saying I could run 14s in 5,000 feet above sea level like where some of you live(and I am sorry you live up there where you starve your engines for oxygen and run 1/2 or more seconds behind us on the east coast.) Im sure its nice country up there but NOT GOOD FOR RACING. As for REDFOCZ you wanted some proof the last time when I was new to the cobalt and asking nicely if it was a good time. You were one of the bigest haters. You never responded once I posted my slips. Not even a good job man. I'm sorry you have a tuned, fully bolt on car only going 93mph. Guess what my BONE STOCK one went 93.1!!!! Maby you should move up here. Thanks for those of you giving me props for driving good and running good times. Anytime anybody wants to come down here and watch me to proove it just let me know. If you live far you could stay at my place for the night. Can't wait to see it with all the bolt ons I have waiting!!

Very good times. Where was this ran at? I only ran at Beaver Springs before and it isn't anything special. I never saw a ss/na run at the track but those seem like very good times. Congrats man, good 60's too.
Edit - I see it says Cecil. I have heard good things about that track. I would like to get down there at some point.

Thanks, I wasn't refering to most of you guys as haters. The haters know who they are!! I just checked out your car. The wheels look good!! I cant find the lightweight ones in black so im gona get them powder coated. Good times to on yours. I think you would smoke me if you were racing here.
04redline he is the one that was poking at me. I stated that I am racing in better conditions if you go back and look in the drag racing section under my first post of 1/4 mile times good? He stated that its herd to believe urs traps 92 when my fully bolt on only goes 93!!! Well now mine did 93. Ive stated in plenty of posts that I race in the best part of the country but still seem to have some non believers.

im sorry but your pretty dumb to poke at redfocz since he lives in FLORIDA!! for god sake a stage 2 lsj down here traps fukin 101-102, unlike u norhterner guys trapping like 107.....i mean down here i trap jsut about 112 up there im a 117 trap, doesnt make me any faster, just ALOT better weather and prolly better tracks!!
I'm glad someone here knows how it is here in Florida... The weather down here suffocates the poor cars.
Good times too btw.

I'm going to the nopi event @ englishtown to watch I'm sure i'll see some quick ones there. Do you come to cecil or up further to englishtown and when?

Does Cecil have like a 100 mph club or anything where they post times online like Beaver Springs does? The traction is pretty good down there? I'll have to make it down and try it sometime.

No cecil doesnt have anything like a 100mph club I wish they did. It is a good track tho and Im glad I only live 15min. away!!!
On the 14.95 run I ran a g35 I think thats what there called. I cant stand foreign **** so I dont even pay attention but it was a rear wheel drive infiniti 2 door. You think he was nervous to race me with his -117 red light. I knew I wouldnt have a chance. Wait till the bolt ons go on!!

I'd love to... the good air isn't gona be around much longer. The humidity and higher temps are going to start creeping in. The best time is around end of sept. to end of oct. We usually have a good tail wind coming out of the wnw and low temps and low humidity. I'm sure this tack is prepped much better. Let me know when you want to come down and you can either stay @ holiday express next to track or stay @ my place. I think you will run much better than you did last week. I'd love to check out your set up. Maby I'll have all my bolt ons by then and give you a good run!!

Those are crazy 1/4 mile times! Great driving! I think you have what's called a "factory freak" car. I'd love to see the dyno numbers on your car.......I bet they're higher than the usual 150 whp that most stockers get.

Thats a great idea!! I'm not a big dyno guy but it would be interesting to see how it stacks up to the rest. I am only about 10 min. from a dyno I'll check into it and let you guys know the results.

Nope, I don't buy it.
2007 Chevrolet Cobalt SS
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...t+page-10.html
C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 7.1 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 20.3 sec
Zero to 120 mph: 37.0 sec
Street start, 5-60 mph: 7.3 sec
Standing ź-mile: 15.7 sec @ 91 mph
Top speed (governor limited): 118 mph
3/4" and 2mph faster than what C&D got? (not to mention dragstrips are notoriously harder to launch a car at)
Nope. No freaking way ...

I don't think it's impossible. Who knows what schlub editor they had driving the car, whst crappy track prep they had, what crappy gas they put in it, whatever. If this guy knows how to drive and busted into the 14's... kudos to him.

Didn't edmunds run a 15.1 with the ss/sc? Sometimes people just don't get it right.

Congrats on your run. Nice driving!
You'll probably beat my 2.4 auto even with mods. True, the 5 spd gets more hp to the road, but you've got to know how to drive too. If you're ever in Louisiana look me up. I'd like to run you some time just for kicks.

Thanks for all the props guys!! I guess there will always be some non believers. What I'm gona try to do is vid tape me at the track and scan by the whole car and show the stock intake, stock exaust, 4,000 miles on the odometer and then go right down the track. I bet even then there will be some people not believing it. I don't know what else I could possibly do to prove it? Does anyone have any sugestions? Or maby i'm just not gona worry about it and start putting some bolt ons on and really freak em out!!! Thanks again guys who actually do believe!!!
