06 SS SC Exhaust Parts
My apologies if this is covered somewhere already. My searches could not find this information here!
Trying to help my son with his 06 SS SC. Flex pipe between Ex Manifold and CAT is shot. I know we can't replace only the Flex Pipe. Have not been successful locating replacement CAT assembly (from 3 bolt manifold flange to next flange after the CAT. Any ideas? I find many for 2.4L SS and other Cobalts, but none specifically says 2.0 SS SC. Are they the same for NON SC's? Or does anyone know a source for this?
Thanks!

It's not warranty because its not an emissions device. So lame I had one go twice. You can weld in a new one or just replace the cat. Lol it's a good time to get a zzp long tube header!

Cat is warranted for 80,000 miles. Since you can't buy the flex separate from the cat some dealers have taken it to mean that the flex is also covered by the warantee and replace the whole downpipe under warantee. Definitely a ymmv but might be worth checking if u have a good relationship with your dealer.

Here is where I'm at! One local shop recommended another shop that is alleged to have a great pipe welder. He looked at it and said no way - the flex pipe is too close to the flange. Car has 115K Miles, so I am sure warranty is out of the question.
Located part Eastern Catalytic part number 50441. That is the only one I can find that specifies the 2.0L SS SC. Between $250-$750 depending on vendor. There is another Eastern CAtalytic on Ebay that says it is for this car, but it is a different number - 50374 - that says it fits all 2006 cobalts for $189 buy-it-now. Called that place and the phone person had no idea.

ZZPerformance - 2.5 inch Stainless Cobalt/Ion Downpipe #ZZ-E25DP
Would be cheaper to just buy the new DP and take out the 6 bolts and put the new one in.
