aftermarket shift knob fitment

Alright, first off I don't want to fork out the cash for a short shifter right now. I'd love to have a TWM but for right now I just want to get an aftermarket shift knob to hold me over for a while.

So I have to ask, what do I need to look for in a knob, dimensions wise? And how would I keep my reverse lockout? I have no problem getting rid of my reverse lockout if necessary, but would I have any problems if I did get rid of it completely?

Thanks guys!

You are gonna have trouble finding something to work with your shifter. Mainly because the factory knobs on all balts are pressed on, not threaded. They do make knobs that come with set screws that you could use to slide over the shifter and then lock into place but you will probably have to get rid of reverse lockout to use them

yea short throw's the only way to go unless you bore out the threads on a new knob and press it on

So basically, we could get a base model cobalt setup that is shorter anyways, then replace the knob and be set, but reverse lock out will be lost...sounds easy to me.

^No. The shift assemblies on the two are different even if you take reverse lock out of the equation
