Another new clutch thread

Sorry for another new clutch thread, but the search function is not working for me. My clutch is slipping and stinkin, and I am going to install over spring break (next week). I am only running a GMPP Stage 2 upgrade, a cat-back, and an airbox mod, so I am not at the power levels everyone else is at. I drive like an asshat most of the time, and I do a few open track events at the local road course every year, and the occasional test and tune at the dragstrip. I don't plan on increasing my power levels much more, since this is my DD. So my questions are such:

1. What clutch for a reasonable price with a good, consistent feel that will last for my driving style and power levels?

2. Resurface flywheel or an aftermarket?

how much are you looking to spend..spec clutch would be your best bet...not sure but some people are saying you can resurface your flywheel with the spec clutch but others say you have to use a spec flywheel.

Depends on what you are willing to spend. I bought my clutch for $590. Was the SPEC Stage 2 Clutch for stock Flywheel. When you install you will need to clean the flywheel. GM States to NOT resurface the clutch but to just clean it if installing a new clutch. SPEC says the resurface the flywheel so I'm gonna let me buddy who works for GM and is an ASE tech deal with that situation.

For your mods, a Spec Stage 2 or Stage 2 + will be more than enough. Keep in mind, if you wanna go with the clutch and flywheel, you're going to spend close to if not over 1 grand.

EDIT - Allow me to add. please be sure and break in the new clutch for a BARE MINIMUM of 500 miles of city driving. A lot of through the gears and stop and go to make sure the clutch wears in properly. If you don't do that your new clutch with be more worthless than the one you have now.

I was just talking to my buddy at work and he used to own a shop, and knows a place that can rebuild my clutch and pressure plate with kevlar for a couple hundred dollars. He used them on his built Supra and it held up better than the aftermarket cluches that he had been using. Another option to the standard off-the-shelf stuff I guess

Most people on here should have zero problems with the SPEC Stage 2 or SPEC Stage 2+ clutch. Both will hold beyond what stock can and are good for every day driving plus drag if you take your car to the track.

Look around on some of our supporting vendors. Turbo Tech Racing will price match any other competitor, all you gotta do is shoot them a PM with a link to the other site for them to confirm and they'll be more than happy to match or beat the price. Just look around and see what you can find.
