Any tips for a trans rebuild??

I am about to rebuild my trans in my 05 lsj, not sure if its LSD or not. I have a lift and all the tools ill ever need. Im looking for tips/tricks on what to buy, what to upgrade and just a general list of things that might make my life eaiser.

this is what its doing
It wont go into 2nd unless im completely stoped (syncro?)
makes a roaring noise, faster i go louder it gets (TOB or Output bearing)

I have researched and found that i should do a LNF TOB, but thats all ive came up with so far

ANY advice would be great!!!

Just be careful, take your time, label things if you need to. Try and find a service manual or use an online one like alldata.

Are you sure you have all the tools needed? There's some getrag specific tools that without them it's nearly impossible to split the case without cracking it.

Splitting the case is the easy part. Getting the gear sets out and Back in is the bitch.

not if you have done a few. If you havent done it before, its a learning experience. which means lots of tears and hardship pretty much.
like bleeding the clutch. its so simple.

andrew that will be hard I am not sure if quaife has a unit that will work on the f23. there is a " green " something or other lsd that folks use with some massaging that works well I am told, I have no direct experience with the unit

It was originally designed for the F23 off of some European car but should fit any F23.

TTR sells them but they overpriced it by about $280 from the other sites you can find it.

I realized I could either buy a set of autocross slicks or an LSD which will benefit everyday driving, I'll probably have a shop rebuild the transmission and install it so when it goes back in it's practically new. If FMSR sells one for about 2k I'll probably just get that.

I'll have to remove a wheel and send you some pics of the Brembo's at some point, but between school and work I only have two nights a week free. I appreciate the response, P.S. how is the rear disk conversion coming along?

Is it priced yet? I need to start saving if so.

If you are willing to rebuild the F23 and put in an LSD let me know.

I really need to make a trip to your shop sometime soon.
