Anyone Have any Feedback on The Quaife 6 Speed Gearkit?
Quaife, the huge UK based LSD company, has released a 6spd gearkit for F35 Cobalt SS/HHR SS
Anyone heard any positive feedback or experience with the product?
Hopefully someone out there has pulled the trigger

Called the company offering these gearkits, Autotech, also in Orange County, CA
Their price is $3000 for the 6 speed conversion, with a $350 installation cost, also they could throw in a Quaife LSD for $650

Granny gear!? What are you talking about? Our stock first gear (3.38) is a tire roasting granny gear compared to the 3.000 first gear in the Quaife kit. A longer first gear is exactly what I'm looking for, as well as the close ratios...

I'm convinced this is worth the money for a dedicated road course car. But, I can't justify it for anything less. So, I guess I have to build a road course car, eh? hehehe.

I wonder what these guys think the gearkit IS worth to them?

The Cobalt SS Turbo has a better final drive ratio for fuel economy (3.82), and a revised clutch housing, as well as a lower cost. It's something to consider.

The input and output shafts are part of Quaife's gearset. The clutch housing revision should make the transmission more durable overall. I'm not saying it's bulletproof, but that combination should be significantly stronger than anything we've see from any other version of the F35. I guess the big question should be, IS THAT COMBINATION STRONGER THAN A STOCK F40? Regardless, it has better gearing than a F40.

See my post above, the clutch housing (read the aluminum casting that surrounds the clutch and bolts directly to the main transmission casing) was revised.

Getting word back from Autotech/Quaife that if you purchase the kit through us "Turbo Tech Racing" you can send your tranny case to Autotech (with the 5 speed complete inside) and they will install the new 6 speed gear set inside for FREE! Yes Free install, if you purchase it through TTR, we have worked out an exclusive deal with Quaife and TTR. PM us if interested.

I think its funny how people hate on the tranny when the stock ss/sc tranny is garbage. Does anyone who talked crap on this 6-speed own one? Thats what I thought.

Its the cost of putting a 3,000$ tranny gear set in a 20,000 car that would be stupid.Do you own one to where you can say its worth it ? Thats what I thought .My stock tranny has 65,000 miles on it now and I race my car more then most(talking track not street)and has never once gave me any problems. So how can you call them garbage.plus you will still have the same tranny just a diff gesr set so i guess then you will have a much more expensive piece of garbage
