automatic to manual swap?

i dont know if this is posted in the right place, if not please move it.

i was just wondering if the manual 2.2 tranny will mount up right to the automatic 2.2.

has anyone tried this yet ? and i know the computer has to be changed. but is the computer more complex than swapping out a tranny on a civic.

any detail would be much apreciated. thank you .

there is a lot of work like cutting out the floor boards, running shift cables, getting new mounts, clutch, etc.

this is my first automatic, dont get me wrong. its nice when you could just relax, but i wanna go turbo, and its soo much more fun on a manual trans to feel the turbo.

If you have enough time, knowledge and money anything's possible...

You'll need some serious know-how to accomplish...go for it, document all the steps and be the first to do it...

GOOD luck!

For the cost and hardship the job would entail, I'd just sell the car and get a new one. If anything, save your money and buy a car that's faster from the factory.

you'll get more consistent track times with an auto, and the turbo would make up for parasitic loss from the auto, i say stick with it man.

Stick with the auto. Far less problems than you'll encounter with a manual. Between the install, and overall maintenance of it.

Autos are better for turbos. You won't lose boost between shifts.

Just keep the car an auto or trade it in for a manual.
