best clutch

just wondering what the best clutch flywheel combo i can buy is, looking for the one with the least amount of issues once installed. guys with aftermarket clutches chime in on this thread.

ive herd the exedy hypersingle combo is the best but im not sure... im still on my stock clutch

Excedys is the best that is out as of now, but Centerforce will be releasing a PP, Clutch, flywheel combo within the next month or so.

I've watched clutch threads for two years now, and the Exedy is by far the best overall, its also by far the most expensive though. Very few problems, awesome clutch, but you pay for it. I will be getting one when I am able to afford having the car down for a day or two.

ItalianJoe is correct, but if you can wait, Centerforces clutch package should be a better daily driver setup then Excedy. I talked with the sales man, and made sure to mention the price that Excedy is selling their kit to see if that would help them to keep the price down.

Agreed, centerforce is an awesome company, my dad used thier products in many cars at his shop and always had good luck with them, along with stock or better drivability. If thier twin-disc comes out at a resonable price, it may cause me to look that direction, but I am 90% on the Exedy right now.

It's going to be close to a grand. It's going to have a pressure plate, dual-friction clutch and matching lightweight aluminum flywheel. For all of that and the quality that will come with it, I would expect to pay no less then about 8 or 9 hundo at the least.

I'd put it over $1000, comparable to the Exedy. Centerforce usually has more stuff involved in thier products, and the cost will be high for a top quality clutch.

I have the stage 3 Clutch Master and my car response way better. I have no problem with this clutch; I still have the stock flywheel though.

joe if you actully looked around the forum more you whould no not only me but multpl other people has had problems with spec. my spec clutch went out in 10k miles it might be driving habbits but i think not. you can ask any car forum and they will all say the same thing. this is y i hate this forum cause people ask gay questions without searching but im really not the person to say something i norm just answer there q and move on. but when i state my opioion i get snaped at.

I'm not arguing with your statement, i'm just saying to explain a little. Like the 2.8 on stage 2 issue, people have said simply "nah, you'll blow up" and thats it, now there are noobs telling me my car is going to explode and ****. I'm not attacking you personally, sorry for snapping at you, I just get tired of seeing the same thing over and over. Adding your personal experience would have been great, so people don't come in and say "oh yeah, some people said that Spec clutches suck". Instead, they will know that yours only lasted 10K before taking a crap.

The Spec stage 3-2 kits are great. Had a CM stage four paired with a fidanza fly that exploded on me. The Spec stage 3-2 kit I have in the car works great and is about the same price as the exidy. Now I would have probably gone exidy if there were any to be had at the time but there weren't so I went with the spec and have had zero problems. the one thing I would recommend is to also change the slave cyl / throw out bearing at the same time. If you don't you may regret it down the road.

ok so i have been going through threads, and everyone says to replace the slave cylinder and the throw out bearing. is this necessary?

I am just from the old school ways and any time I changed a clutch I changed the throw out. Mine was not changed and when the clutch Masters was installed. we took the clutch masters out and the throw out pretty much fell apart. Oh and this is only my opinion and was spawned by the customer help I got from CM I will never buy another product from CM if my life depended on it. There product is not worth the paper it was designed on.

Just my opinion.

i was thinking in spec 2+/fidanza flywheel or spec 2+/spec flywheel but the price what very close to the exedy combo
i have heard a lot of good thing about exedy combo but i haven heard much about the others combo
what do you guys think? pay the couple bucks extra for they exedy or the other ones are better?
