Clutch Disk Question(HELP)
I just got my clutch in today, bought it from a member on here. I was wondering is this okay? It looks as if it would be fine to me but I am just checking before I install this beast.
Here is the picture of the layers

I hate to be the bearer of good news when my buds have said otherwise, but...I'd carefully chip away the loose stuff and run it!
If that's the worst of it, I really doubt you'll have any problems. It was apparently mistreated in shipping or otherwise, but that's the most vulnerable portion, along the edge...and the damage is not likely to spread. The main lining portions appear to still be firmly bonded to the steel core, and overall, you've lost only like .05% of the total surface area. It's also inconsequential as to affecting the balance, since the lining material is so light anyway. If you can't get satisfaction via a replacement, I'd toss it in and not even worry.

I was doing research before I bought the clutch and back in 06 when they were having problems with the pressure plate being to large I was skeptical about dealing with them. But I called them lastnight, emailed them pictures and they got back to me this morning to make sure everything was all good. So they are good in my book. Thanks again Bill

We recently had an issue with the Sunfire where our flywheel bolts backed out, trashing the flywheel and much of our twin-disc. No fault of the product...just a maintenence issue, for at 700+ HP, we have to now check those bolts from time to time!
Clutchmasters not only immedately got me replacement parts, they had to machine a flywheel to modify for our application...and did it the afternoon I called! I was impressed enough, but then I was about floored when they then called me back on Monday to make sure everything went all right and see how we did at the track that weekend.

That's a good example! They introduced new product, had some issues, but proved themselves by getting behind it. Any new product intro runs this possible risk...been there myself! But the true mark of quality is how a company makes it right.

It's more impressive to hear them calling up the average "Joe Shmoe."

I've been back and forth between the 300 and 400 (6 puck).
For my current power levels, the 300 would be just fine, but I know that my numbers will be going up after a few projects this winter...
