CM FX300 Great news and aggrivation still on the clutch!
I installed the latest version of the CM FX300, and I can honestly say it's as smooth as the factory one. It engages smoothly, completely disengages, and drives like a dream! It took my buddy and me 6 hours flat to include bleeding and cleanup. It's about time that this part of the saga ended for me.
The only problem I have is that the little squeal from hell returned. The one that goes away when I push the clutch in, which is why this whole damn ordeal of taking the car apart started! I replaced the slave cylinder when I did it, so I have no damn clue why the noise is back. I should have left the one that was quiet in! Grrrrr.......

Hang in there, that noise may go away on its own. I am really happy to hear that yours is in and working right. Can you describe the noise? Does it follow engine speed or vehicle speed? There is a small piece of sheet metal at about the 7:00 position that will make noise if it is rubbing up against the flywheel. It is visible from underneathe as you look from the engine toward the trans. Check it out, if it is rubbing, a quick bend with a screwdriver will take care of that. Makes no sense that it would go away with the clutch depressed if that is it though. Mike

The noise is like a little squeal. It goes away when you press the clutch in, and once the clutch is released it comes back instantly. This only happens when you're in neutral. It chirps every so often while driving however. I'll check the sheet metal, but I doubt that's it, because the noise would be constant. I really don't want to take the car back apart either, even know we did the change in 6 hours flat to include cleanup. The noise was gone completely with the clutch that wouldn't disengage though. This happened on the stock clutch too, which is why this whole damn ordeal with clutches started.
I'm going to check the vieing window and see if the slave/TOB is constantly spinning on the pressure plate fingers causing the squeal. From my understanding it shouldn't touch the fingers until you press the clutch pedal to the floor right? I am extremely happy the car is driveable again however dispite the hole noise thing reoccurring.

Sorry for the late reply, but I have been out of town for the last week and where I was, the internet is about as slow as molasses in January.
Anyway, my theory is that you still had a slight amount of air in the system and were getting very light pressure on the TOB with clutch released. I suspect that by now, the noise has gone away on its own.

Just got back in town myself here. Still have the squeal, but I think it's still some air in the system. I'm also going to replace the o-ring on the line that goes into the tranny this week. I think that's my noise problem. Other than that the clutch works great!
