CV/axle brand removal info
I just installed a rotated front trans mount, and while I was there I noticed my CV boot was now in two pieces. Looks like it fell apart on a segment, no tears or anything. Made me do a double take, almost looked like it was supposed to be in two pieces and pulled apart. Cant say I ever saw one come apart like that. A new axle isnt that much, $70 to 140 or so, so changing out the boot isnt worth it to me since its cold out and I'd just as soon just pull it out and stick a new one in. Anyone have any good, or bad feedback on brands? I see Rock auto has AC Delco, a little more but maybe worth it?
Also, once the brakes and rotor come off, do I need to remove the wheel bearing? Is the lower ball joint where it needs separated? Thanks!

Pop the outer tierod from the knuckle, and the lower balljoint from the knuckle.
If the balljoint wont come free easy from the knuckle, pull the strut-->knuckle bolts.
watch the ABS wire
If the axle wont pull out from the hub assembly, may have to beat it out, dont damage the threads.
When installing new CV, make sure its seated in the trans.
If you have the $$, go aftermarket if you are putting down more power/ planning on making more power
