Do motor mounts and ETD's save our axles, or do they hurt them?
I'm thinking about what these modifications (poly. engine or trans. mounts, Ingalls) do to the stock axles.
Are they helping the motor and trans. stay put, putting more "abuse" to the axles? Or is wheelhop caused by our stock setup putting more on the stock axles? I started thinking about which would be lesser of the two evils. I'm pretty sure that wheelhop would be worse, but if the motor is moving less, wouldn't that transfer more of the power to the axles, then to the wheels?
Any ideas?

motor mounts and all that dont really save your axles so much as your tranny and stuff, the wheel hop can cause you to break tons more than if you had mounts etc. in the end if your planning to up your hp, axles would still be needed, but the mounts would save your tranny and clutch. and by that i mean save your tranny from wheel hop, not stress from added power.

Mounts/Ingalls all work with the same idea in mind to help eliminate drivetrain movement. So what you say... well drivetrain movement when teamed up with large HP cause week links to show there ugly faces. Why? Because of a dirty little thing called wheel hop. Wheel hop is the sudden loss of traction and traction being regained very quickly and this breaks axles. Go do a burn out on a patch of ice then get that burn out to move towards dry pavement watch how fast you can break stuff.
