no not Dex 6. Its DEXMERC ATF. Says for 83-05 GM cards requiring DEX 1-2-3 etc.

I have it and it shifts like **** since. Going back to OEM specs to see if it solves the problem.

My manual said to use Dex III and that '07s and up use Dex VI. I wonder if there is really that big a difference.

Really? Weird... I thought mine felt alot better after swapping out to RP. Is it possible you used the wrong kind? (It's been awhile but I know there are a bunch of different kinds...)

another question, how the hell do i get access to the drain bolt. My normal allen wont fit, im in the process of grinding it down is there any other way besides dropping it?

Well that was easier then changing oil on the SC cars... took less then 10 mins once wheel was off.

what do you mean dropping it? theres nothing to drop? ohh maybe its diff in a sedan..??

And taking the wheel off of an sc? lol its not THAT hard lol - we found a nifty way of maneuvering the oil filter off in mine It just takes some tools that fit the cap on it and my bf - he has long, skinny hands so its no problemo!

the pic above is from my cobalt ss/sc

I bought an 8mm allen from autozone that was shorter than the ratchet/socket one.

you need to RE-read what i wrote i said it took 10 mins once the wheel was off to change the trans fluid. It was easier then changing the oil on a SC car. Never mentioned taking the wheel off for oill........ As for dropping it, I was refering to the subframe as my allen key didnt fit till i grinded down the end about half an inch....wow Reading > you

DEXRON VI is far superior to all previous DEXRON fluids and was used in production starting in 2006. It should be used in all GM automatic transmissions that specify DEXRON fluid. If you have a manual transmission that used DEXRON III, DO NOT use DEXRON VI in it. Instead use GM Manual Transmission Fluid P/N 88861800

no no no. dont do the fill it till it pours out you will overfill it.Bad things happend with too much oil in the trans, measure it in. and use GM fluid (Silkolene 75 w 90 ) that is the best...Fluid capacity (approximate): 1.7L / 2.0 qt ( dry )
