Engine Mounts and Solid Tranny mounts
I talked to a guy a while back and he said that he had to grind some stuff down to get his solid trannys mounts in. I am wondering how many other people have these(any kind of mount). On the engine mounts how much of a pain in the ass are those to put in. Are they just bolt in or you have to fabricate anything. 08SS/TC

Thats why i asked because i will get pissed while installing them if it doesnt go right. Any specifc tool to press them in with. Wouldnt taking that engine mount off and putting the new one in **** with the timing or that could be just me.

if you have a new TC thats a heck of a car you should put OTTP rotated mounts in it that fixes hop and doesnt leave you with awful vibes. and yes if you lock up the mounts solid you risk the possiblity of vibration being picked up as a knock condition by the engine knock sensor. my .02c

grease the inside of the mount and lay it on a workbench, shove in the mount as far as it will go at about a 45 degree angle, grab a big f'ing hammer (not a claw hammer...a real hammer) and hit that bitch on the top edge hard.... it'll pop right in.

Just installed my solid poly tranny mounts and stage 3 clutch. I hate the tranny mounts my whole car vibrates like the dash is going to fall off when you turn the ac on. I guess from the idle change. it wasnt hard using a bearing press and some 5w-30 engine oil. You just press the old ones out from the outer ring trick is to find a circular pipe or something that fits around the tranny mount to allow the old one to pop out. then lube up the hole and tranny mount and press the new one in. i cleaned it with brake cleaner once i got it started to get rid of any oil on the mount.
