F23 trans throwout bearing install
I'm in the process of installing my KY clutch and today I went to install the new TOB I received with the clutch. Well, I noticed this one (left) is different from my OEM one (right).
What am I missing to make this work?
The TOB bolts in place fine but obviously is too big to connect to the master cylinder line.

Is the original a 2 piece unit? On a different make I've ordered a TOB before expecting the TOB and the arm and just received a donut because there were several part numbers for different pieces of the same thing.
I checked my 05 and it has the tiny end on it like yours.

Maybe it's an 05 only thing? Wouldn't surprise me
That's what I was thinking. I asked CED and they didn't know so I reached out to TTR. Hopefully they and KY can figure something out.

Just to update this so it is a good future reference.
1. The IonNinja/customer has a 2005 saturn ion-2.
2. The kit was ordered on our website for a cobalt 2.2L ecotec
3. The cobalt 2.2 and the Ion-2 use the same pressure plate and disc
4. The cobalt 2.2 and the Ion-2 do NOT use the same TOB, as shown above.
5. Even though it was not KY's fault, as they shipped the ordered cobalt 2.2 kit, they are sending him a correct ion-2 TOB/Slave at no charge for him
Now that is great service!

I'm just curious if it's a larger system that would work better with a stiffer clutch in an F23, for example on DFZ24's car, I put the exedy 3puck "stage 2" or whatever and a bigger master might help with the engagement feeling IMO. If it was available OEM from an Ion and could be swapped that would be awesome, yes I realize it would mean dropping the trans but just thinking out loud.

Weaker wouldn't be an issue I don't think, we haven't seen any stock master cyl's failing for no reason. The few that do are usually when other work is being done and that happens on every car.
If it's smaller internally it would actually be better, as it gives you more mechanical leverage via the pedal and his car already has a high engagement point which would be moved down along with making the pedal softer. If it's larger internally then it's going in the wrong direction.
I fought this battle with my Z and the wilwood master/custom slave for my twin disc, I ended up dropping a size on the master cyl and it got much better, IMO I could go another notch down but the vendor was originally not too trusting of my input and only wanted to send me the one size smaller than his normal kit.

So I got the new TOB from KY, same as OEM and went in without issue.
So I guess someone else will have to figure this out if the time comes. It wouldn't surprise me if the difference is for 05's across the board and not just Ions.
It'd be nice to get an engine and transmission diagram with the part numbers as I bet swapping out the line would also resolve the issue.
