F40 kit Discontinued?
#51
I may be an exception because I'm a Redline and don't have the calculated gas mileage or miles to empty on my dash, but I have an original F40 kit and I just used the speedo input data in HPTuners from a stock 2004 Redline as a starting point and made some minor tweaks and it reads speed and miles correctly. Remember, the 2004 Redlines had an external tone ring on the intermediate shaft that the VSS read. When I first took it out it read speed and miles way off, so I started with the 04 settings in HPT and they were very close.

I guess we will never know. There are plenty of ZZP employees on this forum who have had months to post a response but seem to be avoiding this thread like the plague. My F40 will be up for sale soon if we don't get some strait answers. I would just email them again but they need to respond here for everyones info.

The shitty part is that while the 445 can handle a bit more stress, its terrible gearing for high speed roll racing. The weakest parts of the f35 are the case, and 3rd gear. The case can be addressed with bracing but 3rd gear is an explosion waiting to happen on cars with decent Tq.

I know you've waited a long time, but I'm sure they'll put those kits back online sooner or later. I believe they still sell other f40 accessories like the clutch kit and tob even. Don't get rid of your f40!

Of ******* course. Sold mine. Shipped it out couple days ago. I was tired of dealing with zzp run around bullshit, I'll spend my 2k+elsewhere. Not too upset tho. The thing with the f40, IMO, if you are not making big power then it's not worth it. The trans is a heavy bitch, not to mention the extra rotational mass inside. Dual mass flywheels also add to that mass. I believe the f35 can be made to last in the 400-450 wtq range. Above that, f40 all the way.

I'm still running my reinforced 4.45. Still in one piece after roughly 10k mile of hard running. Will b dropping it here soon and swapping with this 405 I'm working on.

If it's a "recorded mileage" issue, State or Federal Laws come into play. If it's found that this kit is causing inaccurate reading, they possibly could face penalties. If these cars are Off Road use only it wouldn't matter but I'm sure ZZP knows the mass majority will be used for street use.

There has to be some give to those laws as something as simple as tire size change or even worn out tires would alter recorded vehicle miles.
