finishing up my clutch swap, few questions!

buttoning up my fidenza/clutchmasters install ..so what a ordeal lol the job itself wasn't that hard did it by myself.
but had some complications along the way,,i had to grind out the old throw out bearing bolts the previous owner stripped the torx bolts putting them in last time..
then he completely rigged the factory hydraulic setup,he drilled and tapped the factory elbow on top of the transmission and used compression fittings that leaked after I took it apart,so I replaced all with gm parts like it came from the factory.
after the install,{I haven't driven it yet} but noticed my pedal is real low to the floor as compared to stock, its bleed properly, and feels hard as a rock.
but just a lot lower on the pedal so I ordered the zzp adjustable master cylinder/rod for piece of mind.waiting on it to arrive.

so I have a few questions,i got the zzp upgraded shifter cable bracket for the trans, but for the life of me cant get the cables off the old bracket, whats the trick?

also I ripped one of my new zzp axles boots somewhere during the process, has anyone just changed the boot out before? how do you remove the clamps to get the boot off?

just be sure you have it adjusted correctly. the correct adjustment is when you have a slight bit of freeplay at the top of the pedal (1/4-3/8"). if its firm right to the very top you may have pressure in the hydraulics and can cause the clutch to slip. its normal for the clutch to grab with the pedal closer to the floor when its new.
