Get your flame suit ready lol...

I read the trans fluid thread and against better judgement....

Im debating throwing half a qt of syncroshift2 in with a new batch of MT85.

As Ive posted about, my 2nd gear syncro is making noise, mostly on downshifts. While I could throw the stock parts on the car and just drop it off, I feel I should take care of this one lol. Def has to be from the abuse at the track with the DR's on the car. So for right now, Im just taking it easy on the car until spring when Ill do "other" things..

So, to the topic. Should I not waste my time or worth a shot? Ive already dealt with the reality that I will be repairing or replacing this trans, and I can't imagine it would grenade before I felt something feeling wrong. Or is my thinking just way off and leave it alone? lol

Thanks!

GL-4 fluid for our syncros. Period. Ask Maven on GMSC.

The MT-85 was fine BTW, I just put the LNF fluid back in when I was having my clutch master cyl issue. They shift & sync the same.

You might want to try MT-90 to quiet it down a bit.

I picked up the MT85 today and Im going to try half a qt of Amsoil Syncromesh in there. Ive read mixed reviews, most seem to say it's just a bandaid for a failing trans... well no **** lol. For me it is.

Oscar (09whtepsssh) has 2 beat trans' now and Im pretty sure the 1st one was the diff and not the gearsets. He offered it up to me, I should just go get it and fix mine. lol
