GM Ecotec clutch upgrade kit

Anybody have experience or extra info on this product from GM. I see it on Crate Engine Depot and it says good to 300 HP. Does that mean good to 300 TQ as well? Do I have to get another GM specific flywheel or can I go aftermarket to mate up to this thing? Also is this the same clutch as in the Turbo SS/TC.

Or am I better off for the money getting something like the centerforce, act or spec ect...

What I am looking for is something that won't kil my wallet but be good day in and out (easy pedal/smooth as a daily driver but can handle a fair amount of power) I am looking to add probably 62 lb injectors and a 2.8 pulley....maybe....with another custom tune...beyond that not too sure for mods.

Thanks folks.

No it is not the same clutch as the SS T/C, there is no advertised TQ rating, and you dont need a new flywheel.

You may try asking again in this thread:

When you say I don't need a new flywheel I get that I can re use my existing or buy a new GM spec flywheel but can I use something lighter like fidanza and have it mate to this clutch. that and if my current clutch is bad/slipping is it possible that the flywheel is damaged as well?

I mean that your stock flywheel can be resurfaced if it is in good enough condition.

Since you suspect your stock unit is on its way out, then yeah it may be a better idea to get a new flywheel.

Sorry, I don't know much about the fidanza.

No worries man. Thanks for the info and link to the other thread you started. I posted there and I am going to read through see if anybody has any impressions. It seems like a good upgrade to do and it is a GM part so in theory less bullshit out of the dealership on install.
