help finding clutch
guys im in serious need since my car is already apart i figured i would get a clutch for the cobalt but i want to use the stoc flywheel. my guess is to go with the spec clutches. now my mods on the car for perfomance is 2.7 pulley,60lb inj., 2.5 catless exhaust, cobra heat exchanger, aem intake are my basic performance mods. on the mustang dyno i put down like 265whp and 248wtq what is my best bet do u think i can get away with the stage 1. or will i need to go to like a stage 2 and stage 2+. Im kind of in a bind though for cash because i have about a grand left but still need gaskets except for the head. For the entire engine. ill also need a stock flywheel most likely and slave cylinder and throwout bearing. soo im guessin ill need 700 for a clutch stock flywheel and throwout bearing and slave cylinder

As we have stated in PM's to you, we will let others also chime in and agree:
Honestly, the SPEC Stage 2+ at a minimum. 3+ if you have it in the budget. Members have gone with less, however also some have had trouble and are not happy. A clutch is one item you do not want to do 2 times. It is not only the price of the clutch, but the install time and lobar. In the long run it is better to do it right the first time. Also it keeps open to other mods you may add later (that you may not plan on now), you can add more HP/Torque and not have to worry about the clutch.
Only thing you could buy new, if yours is bad, is the slave/TOB. However no one makes a high performance one, they can be purcahsed at any GM dealer for about $70
Slave/TOB is all one unit... (you cannot take one off from the other)
You will be very unhappy and sorry if you choose the stage 1. You will be happy for the first ~10,000 miles but that is it.... (we have heard it before)

Agreed. I know 2 people that have the Spec Stage 2+ and they hold up very well; one guy has multiple track passes on slicks and S2 axles launching at 3K+ RPMS and it grabs every time. Like they said, 2+ at minimum, 3+ if you can afford it.
