Hurst Install Help

Can someone with a Hurst Shifter tell me what size screw you need to use as the retainer screw on the linkage? It's the screw that goes into the little ball that slides half way up the actual shifter shaft. The A-Holes that I bought it from didn't send the screw. Please help!!

I really need to know the size of the setscrew though. It doesn't give it on the packaging or anywhere else that I can find.

A special thanks to NGA sales for sending me an open kit with missing parts. Awesome.

You should wait and not install the shifter. Call them first thing Monday morning and let them know that they shipped it without a set screw. You might be able to send it back to them and they might send you a new one with a set screw. That is what I would do cause you paid for a brand new shifter so you should have all the parts that it is suppose to come with.

The screw that comes with them are crappy and strip, I picked up a bag of them at home depot. In the fastner center. The 4 pk was like 95c, it was standard thread I think 1/4"

I bought a scratch & dent, so I can't really return it. They mentioned nothing about the setscrew not being in the kit though. I already installed the damn thing not realizing I needed the screw (dumb on my part). I just need to know the thread so I can go buy one. 1/4 inch length looks to be accurate though. Oh well, I'll just buy a bunch of 1/4 inchers and hope I get lucky. Thanks guys!

Take the ball part to the home depot. They have 1/4 diameter I think it is corse thread set screws with the allen wrench hole. They are in the bolt bins. They should have a little stand there with a bunch of test threads you can spin the ball onto to check the thread for sure.
