Do you try to find that elusive sixth gear a lot? perhaps speed shifting from third to fourth could get to be tricky huh!!!

I would rather the reverse LO not work, its kinda like having a dummy light for being low on fuel, if some peoples light were to go out, they would run out of gas all the time!!

There is too much whining and debate about this reverse LO. The Hurst is a superior shifter to those on the market with or without the reverse LO.

confused

I ordered one of these for my 2.4L SS and I got the silver part off of the shift but there is no torque screw under it. Just some plastic piece. Has anyone installed this shifter in the 2.4L?
Thanks,
Gringo

well I heard back from Hurst, Spoke to Jim their Chief tech and engineer, he says they are aware of this problem. this part was prototyped on a car and worked fine, but they recently installed one in a brand new 07 and the shifter does not go into rev. with the reverse lockout.
It goes in without like a lot of us are experiencing.

they are working on this to determine what has changed/ or not changed that causes this.

Question:Anyone that has installed this shifter and do not have the use of the lockout, was your shifter EVER replaced under warranty?

I put mine on tonight and the reverse lockout works...sort of. It is only time until the plastic wears down and the reverse lockout is useless. I have never had my shifter replaced, there is a bushing broken, but the ******* dealership is incapable on finding it. Miraculous when they hooked the scanner up it didn't find anything. WTF, what good would the scanner do, what a bunch of retards...

Well, It's installed. It was a bitch though! I misread the instructions and the linkage is all fucked up. I'm just stupid I guess.

I finally got it to where I can shift into all the gears but 5th is hard to find and Reverse is just weird. The lock out only half works. I'm going to play with it later and see if I can't get it adjusted better.

But, other than that 1-4th is amazing and it feels very smooth. If only 5th and reverse felt the same. It looks bad ass though!

Edit: I fixed the linkage and adjusted it. All gears feel awesome and the Reverse lock out works.

what did you adjust? the shift cable or the select cable? the large pivot ball can only be installed one way, right? It's sandwiched between the base and the upper plastic retainer.

Well I just got mine in this week and it looks just like all the other pics I have seen, no plastic. As far as problems with how it works, I will not know until sat or sun.

ive had my hurst in my ss/sc now for about a month...i love it but the only problem i have is i think its too long or tall...i know people have been having problems with the reverse lockout...mine doesnt work which is fine...what i was wondering is if it doesnt work...is there any way you could take the whole lockout off the shifter assembly...the hurst shifter that is?

I'm confused, you ordered a Hurst or a TWM?

Hurst is for 2.0 only, which might explain the problems unless you're trying to alter the Hurst to work on a 2.4 shifter, in which case you're gonna be on your own, don't think anyone's tried to tackle that yet.

Yeah I just recieved mine today, and all I can say is I love it. Mine has a sweet graphite knob, I dont know about the plastic one from above. I won't be instaling it till next spring though seeing my car is in storage now.

well im a few thousand miles away from any short shifter. but the wife didnt open the package all the way just enough to see what was in the box. she said while it was in the wrapping it looked like plastic when i finally heard back from her i had already posted she said it was like the pics on this thread. so no worries now.
