Intense Trans Inserts
Will they fit the 2.2's? I know they say they're for the LSJ. I just don't really want to pay the $300 for both of the ZZP mounts. Please don't turn this into a 2.2 v 2.4 v 2.0 thread please.

If they dont fit let me know. We have started making inserts and full mounts for the autos. However if you guys dont have one that fits already out there we would be willing to make them also. The autos will be available soon.

Right now we are working on the transmission mount. We are going to be sending out first unit out to some individuals for testing. Im sure you will here about it on the forum. We are still testing and developing the units and price has yet to be determined. Our goal is to provide a push-in bushing and a full reinforced mount. We will try and keep you up to date as much as possible.

Mines a Manual...dunno if that makes a diff...But thinking about it, I dont know if I could trust a plastic mount to take the shock if I were to put the poly insert in it. The rear is metal I dunno why the front is plastic though.

if one of your trany mounts is plastic, I'd consider switching to a solid or polyurathane motor mount like ZZP or JBP, or anything else available in the future

The ZZP mount doesn't fit on the 2.2. I'm looking into either locally having a metal mount fabbed then if I have to I'll use a 2 part polyurethane to fill the mount making my own solid mount. Then I'll use the Intense insert I have coming on the rear mount. If I don't do it locally I'll have Cobalt Performance Parts do it. I have it talked out with them.

Wellllllll....sonuvabitch.
I figured it would be too large, but it's actually a bit too small. There's about an 1/8 - a 1/4 inch of space between the mount and the poly, any suggestions on what to do?

I don't know if i'd trust electrical tape. Maybe get some poly and fill it in. You just have to line up the insert in the mount right, even then i don't know if i'd chance something to go wrong.

I think you're going to regret that decision. You also completely void the point of having the mount in by adding the tape. Its just gonna add play. Hope it doesn't fall out while you're driving...

I don't see how it could cause a problem...I wrapped the tape tight and it's not like it's that major of a gap I filled. Also when I put the insert in it was TIGHT. I doubt there will be enough side-to-side movement to make the insert fall out of the mount.

i so alot of suspension work trust me, not gonna happen, the stock mount being plastic and now without poper fit of bushing, it will fail violently\
the bushings i install usually require lube and a press or vice, THEY NEVER JUST SLIDE IN,
get a metal mount from a vender and get it modified to fit by measuring and machining
not some mickey mouse walmart toysrus drill job with bushings falling out

The rear mount is the same way too, the insert is too small. I can remedy that by buying the ZZP rear mount as that will fit the 2.2, but the front mount will more than likely require a custom fab job.

Ok, I've decided to be safe rather than sorry with my engine/trans sitting on the road. I took the front mount back out and got all the tape off of it.
Inside of the mount there is a lip that makes the diameter of the inside go down to 3 and 3/4" when I slide the bushing through the lip of the bushing fits snugly in there. so I'm assuming I'll need to build the inside of the mounts out to 3 and 3/4" somehow. The question now is how.
