you can find the lsd unit for around 1270 bucks at www.manufacturersdepot.com. Just search for lsd cobaltss/redline.

The lsd cobalts launch better because traction is split equally. They also pull through corners better and prevent the one tire fire

it can enrich the cobalt experience. you can give it more pedal in turns, take turns at higher speeds, launch harder

The following site lists a complete transmission with LSD for $1905.US. This is actually cheaper than adding the lsd after.

I have driven both cars (g85 and non g85). The lsd cars out perform the non-lsd cars bigtime. Just lauching the cars is totally different. The G85 ss/sc is worth the 1500 bucks when ordering a new car.

Hi guys I sell one of my parts on that site so I am pretty familiar with it. That part you guys are talking about is $895.

I bought one for my Honda Del Sol Vtec it is like a got a new car. You can feel the torqe in the steering wheel when taking turns. Also if you ever have any events in the wet, snow, or ice say goodbye to anyone that does not have a Quife. Just point to the Quiafe sticker on your car while passing it is fun.

That sounds great because I was consindering trading my '06 non G85 for a new '07 with it....but I would lose about $3000 for the new car & that is with me selling mine (not trading). Is the Quiafe as good, the same, or better than the factory unit? Thanks!

The Quaife is the factory LSD unit for cars with the G85 upgrade.

When I went that route it cost me $700. to have it installed and I had already had the transmission out.
For the cost of the Quaife and labor I would seriously consider buying the complete LSD tranny and installing that yourself.

I'll have a tranny with a broken third gear for sale soon, but it does have a great working factory LSD in it. PM me if you're interested.

Ok guys the difference between Quaife LSD's and the others on the market is that they are torque biased diffs they are completely different than the other LSD units in that they actually curve the power from one wheel to the other depending on conditions instead of simply transferring it.

So for example when I turn right, the harder I turn and the faster I turn the more I feel the torque in my outside right wheel you can actually feel the power on a linear curve from small to large amounts of torque steer. You will be amazed it is like having a different car.

I hope that helps out.

P.S. please buy some Vortekz Generators while you are on that site looking and drooling over the Quaife in your shopping cart.

If the Cobalt has the Recaro seats, that have Recaro stitched into the seat backs then it has the LSD from the factory. The seats and the LSD together are the G85 package.

Quaife makes the LSD for the F35 2.0L cobalt trans, it is stated to be the same as GM puts in the factory car (not posivite just has been stated) and we have them in stock for less then MSRP.

'05 and '06, no. '07, yes.
For '07, Chevy dropped the $1500 G85 package that had the Recaro seats and the LSD.
The LSD was (is) a separate option for $795, Recaros not available.

If you have an '07 and don't know if you have it you'll have to check your sticker.
