Need a little help/info

My dads friend just threw in a stage 1 clutchmasters clutch and fidanza light weight flywheel on my 05 cobalt ss.sc. The guy said the car needs a period of 500 miles to break in the new parts. Is this true? just wondering from some of you guys, I mean I kinda figured it did but I wanna know if the 500 miles is exagerated or w.e. Lemme know what you guys know...thanks

500 miles is needed for proper break in, and that needs to be mostly city driving. you dont have to drive like a granny, at least not for the whole time anyways. the first 100 miles is most important, after that you can step on the throttle a bit, but dont be launching/ banging through the gears, make sure the clutch is right out and roll onto the throttle.
