New Clutch :) Need some help

hey everyone. just order a new clutch for my cobalt and the guy i was talking to said i might need to replace the throwout bearing. can some please help me out and tell me where i can find it?? n how much it'll be.

you have to get it from GM, there is no aftermarket TOB. And it's dirt cheap from what I'm told, so don't sweat it. But you'll have to go into a GM dealer and into the Parts Dept.

And, yes, I would definitely replace the TOB if you're doing clutch. Mine didn't take too much abuse from me.

Off topic but, what clutch did you go with and why? (stock clucth slipping?)

i was beating on the stock one a lot so i'm pretty sure thats why it started slipping. and i got the exedy stage 1.

damn i beat the **** out of my car and at 10psi it has yet to slip on me.

i called the local dealer to get a throwour bearing they said it came with the actuator and seals and it was $132 can they not sell it seperate

call the dealership, i can tell you that the throwout bearing and actuator are built together so you have to buy the whole thing and its $132

LOL I understand i can get it at the dealer, but if someone has a part number i can get it cheaper grom GMpartsdirect...

and by actuator do you mean slave cylinder?

i was just asking because they don't list and actuator on gmparts direct, but they do list the slave cyinder for 132.12 on sale for like 95 shipped

ok so for throwout bearing and the actuator i have to get it from the dealership or gmpartsdirect??
and i have another question. i got my clutch in already but the other day i was driving and i decided to rip on it and the clutch didn't slip. i did it a few times and it didnt' slip once. i dunno why because a month or 2 ago it would slip. but now today i was driving and it felt like it slipped, wasnt sure and i didnt try it again because i had gotten to work already and had to go in. now i dunno if i should get it changed yet or not.

you have 2.8 pulley and 60# inject and only boosting 12-14, i boost 12 in my stock balt? proly should get that checked out
