New redesigned CM FX300 Kit I Received Today!

I got the new CM FX300 clutch kit in today to replace the one that didn't work in my car. The pressure plate is a lot different and resembles the stock one a lot. The new pressure plate is noticeably thinner, so I know it will fit properly! I'll take some pictures later on so everyone can see the difference. Keep your fingers crossed fro me, as I hope things might finally go right with this car!

Here are the pics. Sorry if they're rough, I had a few to drink tonight!

ALL LINED UP!

HERE YOU CAN VISUALLY SEE THE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE!

RIGHT ABOUT 2 3/16"!

JUST A SMIGE ABOVE 2 5/16"

You can also visually see how the new pressure plate would sit nice and flush if bolted to the flywheel, and how the washers on the beat up one raise it too high. The clutch disk isn't installed in either picture, but if the pressure plates were bolted to the flywheel they would sit the same way pictured above.

It should be installed today! I dropped it off at the dealership a little while ago. I can't wait for it to be done, and driving again. My 72 DUB just doesn't have the amenities the SS does if you know what I mean!

Yes they had the flywheel resurfaced. I made sure like 3-4 times that they did it, and then I saw it myself when I dropped off the clutch!

I called them today about mine. I am pulling the trans out of my car tonight (again). I am convinced that the sound mine was making is exactly what yours was doing and since I got the first one, I can assure you that I have the same plate as you. Did they send you a new disc and plate or just a new pressure plate?

The noise is probably the same on then. I was sent a entirely new clutch Kit. New pressure plate, clutch disk, slave cylinder/TOB, and alignment tool. Ronnie at Clutchmasters is is a great guy, and their customer service is nothing less than stellar. Good luck with yours man, but it does feel good that I'm not the only one with the problem. I'm glad I could get it fixed so all of you who order in the future don't have to go through the aggrivation I had to.

In other news, the tech that usually works on my car got in a car accident yesterday and did not show up for work because his face got rammed into his steering wheel during the crash. He is alright and will be fine, but his tool box was locked so the other tech could not get the bolts out of it to put my car back together! If it's not one thin it's another, but at least this time there is no stress involved to rectify the situation.

Hope your Mechanic is ok. Glad to hear that you got it all sorted out. I might consider the CM Stage 2 now.

Im not sure if it was ronnie that I spoke with, but the guy was very accomodating. He told me to email him pictures and he would get it shipped out right away. I was hoping to get the trans out tonight, but it was after 10:00 before I got started on it and I get up for work at 5:00, so I only worked on it for about 1.5 hours. It is about half way done. It is amazing how much quicker it goes the second time around. Thats ok, my eibach pro kit springs came today also, so I need to do them anyway. I am so lookng forward to the clutch working right again. Gotta go, I have a bunch of parts I have to ship out for our business yet tonight.

i have the exact same problem it was making a noise but i guess it got stuck or something and it ripped the pressure plate apart, the top of the starter and my new fidanza flywheel is f'up i'm pissed. the inside of my tranny looks just like yours, but when it got stuck it ripped the bolts out of the flywheel and the pressure plate was just bouning around i cut the car off the spilt second i heard it happen.

i have the FX400 6 puck must have gripped harder and got stuck, but i don't know who should i talk to.

DON'T BUY CLUTCH MASTER UNTILL THEY FIX THE PROBLEM THE PRESSURE PLATES ARE TOO TALL.

^^^Wow! That really sucks. I'd show them all the pictures and request that they give you a new flywheel etc. because of that! I guess I'm lucky that didn't happen to me. I hope the transmission willl be alright for you.

I agree with 2K5, send all of your pictures to tech@clutchmasters.com and I am convinced that they will take care of you with a new flywheel and clutch setup. I am running their aluminum flywheel with my stage 3 and would not hesitate to use it again. As far as the starter goes, I know it is a hard pill to swallow, but I would just go ahead and eat the cost of that and write it off to consequential damage. Sorry to hear about the catastrophic failure though.

Wow, it must be christmas in June. I got a call this afternoon that my GMPP Stage 2 kit came in today and my eibach pro-kit springs came in yesterday. While I am waiting this weekend for my repacement Stage3 CM clutch to come in, I can install the injectors and pulley, then put my springs on and if there is still time, I can finish hooking up the electronics for my NOS kit.

You'll love the GM Stage 2 Kit, trust me! I can only image what the Intense kits are like. let me know how the 75 shot works out for you as I'm always curious about ways to make more power.

Yeah, i'm still waiting on my car as they still haven't touched it yet. All they need to do is install the flywheel and clutch kit, and put the rest of the car back together. If they don't charge me and cover it under warranty, then I wont mind the wait as bad. Hopefully I can get it by tomorrow, so i can break the clutch in this weekend, and next week.
