Optimal shift points?

where can i find or calculate the optimal shift points for the 2.4 5 speed to obtain the best possible acceleration?

400 rpm before the limiter of course..

no, from what ive read coming close to redlining it will not give u the best acceleration.

i believe the 2.2 and 2.4 both make peak HP at 6200RPMs, or atleast thats where HP drops dramatically...so there ya go

2.2 L61
Horsepower: 135 hp @ 5200 rpm
Torque: 142 lb-ft @ 4400 rpm

2.4 LE5
Horsepower: 173 hp @ 6200 rpm
Torque: 163 lb.-ft. @ 4800 rpm

As far as when you should shift, it's really up to you but most people I talk to say even though your power starts to drop off (you're going pass your peak) you may still have a advantage to keep revving because when you shift quickly into the next gear you should drop down right into or around your powerband.
