EDIT: it's a 2001 saturn sc2

my girl said her car was making sounds, (best description i'll get from her) and threw a code. i scanned the code and it's p0741, something about the torque converter circuit. anyone know what this is, and what's involved in fixing it? i saw some specs online, but i'm not familiar enough with her tranny to even attemp to start taking stuff apart. i'm just wondering if anyone knows if this is a big deal or not. she's taking it to her shop today (she works at enterprise rentacar so she gets good deals) but still wondering if this is a big deal or not. i couldn't really find anything online about the code that said what was involved.

TCC System Stuck Off

the computer detected that it could not properly control the TCC or the TCC was mechinicly malfuctioning. so it disabled the TCC and set the code. i have no diagnostic information. i suggest taking it to a saturn dealership (not a trans specialty shop).

p0741 is the torque converter clutch stuck off. it is either a solenoid failure causing non lock up or an internal converter failure.

My advice. Just unhook it or pull the TCC fuse after it re-engages and the light goes off.

why take it to her local shop? isnt it under warranty?
