Reverse Switch

Yes I have looked all over before posting and I only find hazy mentions and opinions, but I need to know where the reverse switch is located. My reverse lights went from working sometimes to never. Good bulbs. I used to be able to kick it in and out of reverse a couple times and they would come on. Now I have nothing. 05 5 speed 2.2L. Any help is appreciated.

Sorry, I guess I forgot to put that in the original post. Good bulbs and fuses all around. Yes the car is running and in reverse.

alright just making sure, u would be surprised at the number of people who post on here first without even doing things like checking there fuses if its electrical our scanning a code if they have a CEL.

From what I have read on other threads and what I can see, the only thing close there is the speed sensor.

make sure the reverse switch if plugged in its on the top of the trans near the shifter if you have worked on your car you may have forgotten to plug it in

I've only done oil changes etc, nothing fun. A pic of the actual switch would be great.

we had that problem before it burned out completly and we had to take it in to the shop..I know that it is located under the fuse box under the hood and the whole thing has to come out to get to it..

That's what I was afraid of. I was just confirming my suspicions before tearing out the fuse block.

the reverse switch is only on the top of the tranny in the supercharged cobalt. if u have an lt or something its on the side. atleast thats what GM SI2000 says.

I finally figured it out. The switch is fine, but whatever pushes against the switch is not engaging it. yay. At least I am back to sporadic rather than nothing.
