Shifter not going all the way into gear, feels weird

I've been having issues with the stock shifter feeling like its not going all the way into gear. I've adjusted the clip under the front cupholders and it isn't helping anymore. It's the same in every gear, it feels like it barely clicks in and will sometimes even slip out and pop back into neutral. I can feel the divider for each gear however its only when it gets to the very top or bottom of the gear does it engage and it feel like its barely in there. There is also a lot of play when I do manage to get it in gear, I can push the shifter back and forward and there is probably close to 2 inches of play with the clutch not engaged. Do I maybe have a bent fork or possibly a bad clutch?

When the car is off can you go all the way into gear?

It will go into gear but it feels the same if the car is on or off, like it's barely in there.

Well then its not ur clutch. How many miles are on your car? Could possibly need new shifter cables. Have you checked you linkages at the trans?

It has 34k, and not driven hard at all by me or the previous owner. No I haven't, but I will on the next nice day. Anything I should look for in particular?

Maybe the roll pin on the linkage that attaches to the trans.

Well I drove it to work yesterday.......and I lost all gears in the parking lot and had to have it towed to a transmission shop. The mechanic was hard to understand over the phone but I believe he said that the column shifter arm broke if I heard him correctly. Some part under the shifter and no he said it wasn't the shifter itself. Great news is its not covered under my GWC warranty. Yay
