Shifting issues in the cold
I have owned my SS/TC since 2010 and this is the first year that i am having an issue with getting the stick to slide into gear on cold mornings. This has happened twice already within a week. I start the car and let it warm up. I go to put it in first and it's like there is a barrier stopping it from going into position. I can't run the stick into any of the gears. When i am finally able to, it feels really tight and i have a hard time shifting into other gears. After about 5-10 minutes of driving, it goes back to normal. Is this a common issue? Anything i can do to fix it? Like i said, i have not had this problem in the 3 years i have owned the car and i have lived in NJ the whole time.

I'm in Cali and mine does this. After you start the car only the engine is warming up, the trans doesn't warm up until it's been driven for a few minutes. Just be gentle when shifting the first few minutes.

My SS does the same thing, when it is really cold. Sometimes it does not want to go into first or reverse without a few trys. Once driven around for a few min, everything is back to normal.

Anything under about 25 degrees and it can become almost unmovable. New trans fluid helped mine a little. One thing I learned is to leave it in the gear you need first thing in the morning.
I usually leave it in reverse so I can back out of the garage. By the time i warm up and back out it's freed up quite a bit. Only other option I thought of was to put a pad oil warmer under the trans for the winter.
